Weiner's inner circle says he's prepping for future comeback

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) friends believe that, while his campaign for mayor may have become a joke, it will set him up for a future political comeback.

New York voters puzzle over why Weiner stays in the race despite constant ridicule. The city’s tabloids pump out streams of headlines punning on his name while late-night comics have made him a national punch line.

Instead of dropping out, Weiner has embraced the media maelstrom in a calculated gamble that voters would respect his toughness and dedication to their issues.

A new documentary by Stateless Media captures Weiner’s unorthodox campaign strategy, which sometimes resonated and, other times, fell flat with voters.

Weiner’s friends say he is setting himself up for a comeback in another race and another year.

Bill Brandt, a close friend of Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, said Weiner’s campaign will clear the way for a future run for office.

How delusional can they be? (ok, so it’s New York, so maybe) but there’s a reason “ridicule” is so high on the Alinsky list. People HATE being ridiculed and while Weiner himself may be beyond ridicule (or shame or anything else), most of the people who’d be asked to vote for him could not abide that ridicule.

New York voters puzzle over why Weiner stays in the race despite constant ridicule.

Some temperaments are so addicted to attention that they crave it and pursue it even when it takes the form of ridicule. They don't feel shame or embarrassment like normal people do. When that temperament is blended with a temperament that craves power and control, you get people like Weiner.

He has friends? Probably the best friends money can buy and no others.

Stand up Weiner! Don't let the powers that be deflate you. Hang in there. The citizens of NYC need somebody who is hard, and willing to poke the media in the eye.

Sorry.

This dick was sitting on a pile of campaign cash. He can spend it like he wants when running for office. The old consultant kickpack, rent some space in his house for campaign work and padded expenses for everything routine. That’s why he’s putting up with the flack.

It’s because democrat voters are so stupid all they do is vote for the most recognizable name with a “(D)” next to it.

Weiner’s next campaign will be funded by Drudge and the NY Post, the money they’d make off the headlines alone would be worth the investment.

I never understood his appeal as a politician, he has always appeared to me as a disrespectful arrogant jerk. Even if I agreed with his politics, I wouldn’t vote for someone like that. Then again, I have no idea how Bloomburg got elected a second and third time.
