Jobs numbers reflect another bleak month for American workers
FoxNews.com ^ | September 06, 2013 | John Lott

Friday’s new job numbers show something workers already knew: they face a very bleak job market. Unfortunately, Americans have been facing tough times for many years now. According to the latest Gallup poll, Obama’s job approval rating on the economy stands at just 35 percent.

After over four years, this continues to be, by far, the worst recovery on record. And that goes for income as well as for job growth.

Too often the media’s gauge of whether the economy is improving rests solely on the number of jobs created or the unemployment rate. And indeed, 169,000 jobs were added in August, but what is rarely mentioned is that at the same time 204,000 more working age people were added to the workforce.

True, the unemployment rate has also fallen from its peak of 10 percent down to 7.3 percent. But that doesn't mean many new jobs. People are classified as unemployed only as long as they are actively looking for work. The unemployment rate can thus fall either because people have found jobs or because they have given up looking for work.

During the recovery, 70 percent of the drop was due to people giving up looking.

New jobs are simply not being created fast enough. . . .

So what were the total unemployment filings for each and every week of the four weeks of the month?

Really. I thought 0bama was focused like aa laser on jobs just like he has been since Jan 2009. We need to get him focused on expanding the democrat party, 0bamaCare/other entitlements, and the federal government. Then those things will shrink and everyone will have a full time job, the housing market will recover, and everyone will have the healthcare plan they were told they could keep.

Tthe latest jobs report is what the United States becoming more like Europe looks like. And Obama’s policies are responsible.

College kids are back to school .... sign up for part-time jobs waiting, burger flipping, selling VISA cards, working in college book stores, etc. All part-time or temporary.

Saw the “sad” story of a recent college graduate living with mom. After an undergraduate degree and a 3 year law degree poor smuck is living with mom and doing part-time tree trimming and janitorial work at the YMCA (total $15,000 annual earnings .... about enough to buy CommieCare and pay his student loans). Mom just hopes he gets any job with real pay and benefits. Mom, looks like she is in her 70s and probably can’t foot the bill to much longer.

These numbers and the polling on Syria prove the election was a fraud. On something as big as another war the media is reluctantly telling the truth.

After over four years, this continues to be, by far, the worst recovery on record.

That's because there was no recovery. Should we start dealing with honest data, we would find that we are in a depression on the verge of a total financial collapse!

The difference is that during the great depression, we had breadlines.

The enormity of those without work today is masked by our automated dispensaries. Now the bread comes in the mail - or refills the EBT card.

If people today had to stand in line to get their assistance, it would dwarf what we saw in the 30’s, and there would be rioting in the streets...

ABC Radio reported the unemployment report like jobs were raining like mana from heaven. Ridiculous.

“Really. I thought 0bama was focused like aa laser on jobs just like he has been since Jan 2009.”

He’s been focused like a laser on...well, anything and everything! There’s not a problem in the world that he and his cronies can’t make even worse!

“...and there would be rioting in the streets...”

...and that’s exactly why there are EBT cards!

And when there are no more jobs, and only government “taskings” remain, there will be a 0% unemployment rate...

I can’t say who or where or where I heard this, but at least a couple techno-wizards are scoping out the possibility of revealing the true situation to the public by boogering up the EBT network and making things go to paper.

I just hope they’ve thought things through very carefully.
