Gold miners in remote Alaska town want answers after task force storms in

Some miners in Alaska want the feds to start digging for answers.

A task force including members of 10 state and federal law enforcement agencies descended on a gold mine in the tiny town of Chicken (pop. 17) last month, in what locals described as a raid.

“Imagine coming up to your diggings, only to see agents swarming over it like ants, wearing full body armor, with jackets that say "POLICE" emblazoned on them, and all packing side arms,” gold miner C.R. Hammond told the Alaska Dispatch. “How would you have felt? You would be wondering, ‘My God, what have I done now?”

A spokesman for the federal Environmental Protection Agency did not deny that agents wore body armor and carried guns, but said it was not a "raid."

"The ongoing investigation conducted by the AK Environmental Crimes Task Force -- consisting of EPA, ADEC, USFWS, ADFG, BLM, Coast Guard, FBI, Alaska State Troopers, NOAA, & US Park Service -- did not result in a raid," the statement read. "The Task Force members involved in the investigation during the week of August 19, 2013, were EPA's Criminal Investigation Division & Bureau of Land Management's Office of Law Enforcement & Security, in cooperation with ADEC's Environmental Crimes Unit."

The investigation was into possible violations of the Clean Water Act, according to the EPA.

This was an Obama terror offensive against American citizens!

When you've got the power, you must use it. Otherwise, you lose it.

These Federal idiots have to be staying someplace. It’d be a pity if all their cars ended up with flat tires, their rooms full of vermin, local vendors refusing to serve them food.....

It’d be a shame if a wolf or bear ate em.

They could have sent up a couple of guys in a Crown Vic with donuts and coffee and gotten better intel. Instead, they send up an army and come back with nothing.

I count ten agencies, almost as many as there are people in that town.

Proves we need MUCH less government.

The jack-booted thugs are just practicing for their raids on ICU departments and maternity wards in hospitals for ObamaCare next year.

The Democrat-dominated Oregon legislature went after mining rights this past session. We tried to stop them, and succeeded in getting a watered-down bill. But mining will be halted after 2014 for five years while they ‘study’ the enviro-impact of mining, even when we already know there’s no big impact on our streams. B*st*rds!

GOP other than Cruz is not lifting a finger to abolish the IRS .

Now we have the Bread and Circus Syria show.

I could care less if every satanist moslem on the planet killed themselves or each other.

The Washingtonians will continue to vote to fund Obamacare/EPA, etc.

GOP doesn't care if they are the conductors on the gravy train or merely along for the ride.

We do not have a party that speaks for taxpayers, only two factions in DC that have elections to determine who controls the spoils.

There will be no solutions coming from the political class in DC.

The nation is too large and to divided to continue to be governed by an elite political class in DC that extorts 4 trillion dollars a year from those outside the beltway, skims off the top for themselves and their friends, and then deficit spends even more in exchange for votes to keep itself and the Federal apparatchiks living in fat city.

They can only continue this tyranny through the use and threat of violent force and intimidation, along with Gestapo tactics 21st century style including surveillance of all citizens.

The free states must refuse to participate in the monstrosity on the Potomac by refusing to send or vote for representatives to Congress, and by forming alliances with other states of like mind.

The Governors have National Guard at their disposal and must be ready to use them for defense if the Washingtonians invade their territory.

The greatest threat to the freedom and liberty of the US Citizen is the Federal Apparatus in DC, not a bunch of ragheads in the middle east.

Instead of being concerned about whether the streams are made worse or better (there could be some operations made to improve them to offset any known harm from mining) they are treated as if they were holy and sacrosanct.

Thank God these minors weren’t selling raw milk or guitars with forbidden wood in them! Another test run by the 0bama Nazi’s, no doubt.

That too. And I’ll bet that little town has at least 4 guns for every one those Feddies have. It’d be a damn shame if they all just vanished into the Alaskan wilderness.

I bet there was no clean air in what the miners said about the raiders.

Jack booted thuggery.

They are doing it for two reasons:

1) Intimidation
2) Self protection for when the American people finally say "enough of this sh1t" and the lead starts flying

Ah, that would explain the "evil mining company" plot lines I have been seeing in books lately.

The mining is usually incidental to the main plot but it is shoehorned in there.

No mining is the new cause celib apparently.

The whole point of these policies is to make it economically infeasible to live in remote areas. They want to force people into cities.
