Report: Assad moves weapons underground

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has begun to move his arsenal of advanced weapons underground in preparation for a possible strike on the country by the United States, Israel’s Channel 1o reported on Wednesday.

Since learning of U.S. President Obama’s desire to attack Syria, Assad ‘s forces have begun to move the weapons, including possibly chemical warheads, into underground bunkers. The process was accelerated when Damascus realized that the U.S. strike would not be a surprise and in fact would be delayed by a Congressional vote, Channel 10 said.

The underground facilities are similar to those built by Iran near the city of Qom in order to protect its nuclear facilities against attacks. This similarity is not coincidental. Most of the underground facilities in Syria were built by Iran and North Korea.

Well yea, duh. Obozo has done everything but call Assad with the time and location of an attack. And his about-face gives them plenty of time to hide everything. What a bunch of incompetent clowns.

So Barry Obomber gets the US involved in the Middle East conflict. How will the parents of the sailors who are killed when one or more of our carriers are sunk by a Russian warship feel?
That snake Kerry will love it, the families not so much

With so much warning now, a strike would probably be either a total boondoggle or so light that the total political gesture behind it would be obvious to all.

Now GayMuzzie’s only play is if the Pubbies vote No Strike.

I don’t trust any of the parties in this- USA, Israel, Assad or rebels. None.

Yep...and this....

Navy Commander Christopher Homer ( I think is his last name) who is with the Institute of the Study of War....said that even a missle strike, because they cannot get air clearance, will take 45 minutes to reach it's target, so they cannot hit anything that's a hard target because anything that can be moved will have time to do so....especially since Russia will let them know as soon as the missle fires.

About the most that can be done are soft targets...like the airports...which would of course affect their planes from leaving and arriving..and this their air supply routes from Iran....which would then have to find other means of supply.

Furthermore the Syrians supporting Assad are already camping out at the sites considered targets, as human shields..by their own choosing.....as seen here in one location...

.....set up a camp at the foot of Qasioun Mountain just outside the capital on 'Tuesday'

I don't see this going well for us when Putan is playing obama like a schoolboy bitch. Berry is out of his league. He isn't dealing with a baby like Boner who bends over at the snap of his fingers. He has already made a fool of himself multiple times. He will be on TV the minute something goes wrong pointing the finger of blame and claiming he was against bombing Syria from the beginning.

If the US fires the next shot, I hope the Syrians destroy Al Qaeda’s Air Force and navy. Those bastards are animals.

The Jihadists/Rebels and all other groups fighting Assad are celebrating the vote today....you know of course they are there to establish an Islamic state with Shariah Law for Syria....and our military actions will make that possible. So to the slaughter of Christians and the Alawites once Assad falls.

I’m with you and have been in that position on a lot of issues lately. One doesn’t always have to choose sides. Sometimes the appropriate answer is “none of the above”.

Here's Assad with his troops...likely they have already secured much of their hard targets by now and still have time to secure other areas as well...

When I grew up in the 50s and 60s in SoCal, we had Nike Missile installations, and they were underground to begin with.

One was near the ridge, of the Puente Hills between LaHabra Heights and Brea.

Obama might have just as well sent a “save the date” card to Assad.

Actually I think that Putin has been kind of muted over the last7-10 days. I wish that he would rachet it up against the boy king 0dumb0, and declare a no-fly zone over Syria. See how the Senate & House chickenhawks (demoRATs & Repukes as well as the faggot-in-chief 0dumb0) would react to a declaration like this. Hopefully that would get some of war drum beaters to reconsider an attack, if it leads to a showdown against the Russia and a strong possibity of WW III, all to protect 0dumb0shit's bruised ego.
