Speaker of the House John Boehner says that he'll support President Obama's "call for action" in Syria:
"The use of these weapons has to be responded to and only the United States has the capability and capacity to stop Assad and to warn others around the world that this type of behavior is not going to be tolerated," said Boehner after meeting with Obama. "I appreciate the president reaching out to me and my colleagues in the Congress over the last couple of weeks.

If McCain were president, how would Obama vote regarding a Syrian attack? We all know he’d vote “no”.

I just called his office at 202-225-0600 and waiting on hold forever to speak to his representative and being told there is a higher volume of calls than normal and after waiting on hold for about 15 minutes, THEN get a voicemail type message from John Boehner about leaving him a voicemail.

If McCain were President this country and Russia would already be a giant heap of radioactive ash.
No big surprise that Boner is supporting Obama against the desires of most Republicans. Considering his record, I would not expect him to do otherwise. The question I have is what exactly does Obama have on Boner, courtesy, no doubt from the NSA that allows Obama to so easily pull his strings.
If using gas warrants a US military response then equally strike each of the parties that used the gas. It isn’t rational for the US to choose sides between these two bad guys.
WWII support for USSR is a much different argument, but if it applies in the least it would support a strike solely against Al Qaeda.
