Oliver North on Fox just now said he stopped by Pentagon this morning to see old friends. Said all he spoke to are opposed to Obama’s planned attack on Syria. But none have guts, including four stars, to say that to Obama. Said SecDef Hagel should stand up to Obama. Sad state of affairs.

Obama: “After careful review, I have decided that military action in Syria will not be in the interest of the Syrian people at this time. I don’t think we should be dragged into another war because Republican senators think there are WMDs.”

Media: “Wow, he’s so assertive and tactical. What a great commander in chief. Damn war-mongering Republicans.”

American People: “President Obama kept us out of war. Yay!”

Just in time for the Mid-term runups with unemployment on the rise and Obamacare a disaster. The president destroys our image abroad to his own political benefit. What a s9itstain.

He’s going to shoot some cruise missiles “across the bow” and hope that all his Syria troubles simply go away. I wonder how he’ll react if Assad launches another chemical attack. Then the U.S. will really be in a bind. This might escalate out of control, as most wars tend to do.

What interest does the USA have in this war? I just don’t understand our involvement in this internal civil war? Assad has murdered thousands of his people over the last several decades. Now, were concerned? This makes no sense.

I have been very tough on Syria...  The Assad regime has been nauty...  This time they've really done it...  This time isn't like the last time...  This time is the last time...  They have run out of time...  We'll have no allies this time...  We don't need any support...  We will do what is right alone...  Ah, correct that at this time...  Congress, the American people, ah basically nobody supports me at this time...  So I am going to go it alone...  I will make the tough call...  I will send in cruise missiles...  I will burn off between $100 and $200 million dollars worth of ordinance...  I will teach the Assad regime a lesson...  I will turn Syria into the Muslim Brotherhood's playground...  Iran will be thrilled, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt will be proud...

I will have stood up to evil...  and those who say I have crawled into bed with evil, I say don't know it until you've tried it.

Mr. _resident... Oh Mr. _resident... Mr. _resident please sir...

And so it goes, this time.

Krauthammer Warns Strike on Syria May Result in ‘Major Regional War’
Aug. 31, 2013 10:12am Oliver Darcy

Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer on Friday warned President Obama that a strike on Syria may result in a “major regional war.”

Speaking on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Krauthammer said a miscalculation could be catastrophic for the region.

“Well, if he [President Obama] miscalculates and the Iranians and Hezbollah react, we could have a regional war – a major regional war,” he said.

According to Krauthammer, a strike on Syria will put Iran in the “driver’s seat.”

“[T]he problem is if you make a miscalculation here and you let Iran imagine that it is in charge, it threatens to attack Israel … Israel will respond fiercely it and it could get out of control,” he said.

If Assad retaliates by hitting our ships positioned off the Syrian coast, what do we do then? (Do we know for certain that he doesn't have that capability?)

Helping Syrian Rebels Means Helping Cannibals and Murderers

Is the buildup of a United States military strike against Syria a diversion — a wag the dog scenario — in order to divert attention away from President Obama’s many domestic troubles? The economy remains stagnant, youth unemployment is at a record high, and a majority of Americans are beginning to question whether the President has any real solutions to get the economic engine of American enterprise going again. A few well placed missiles in a foreign land where we can’t see the destruction that might end being worse than the gas attacks, might bolster the President’s poll numbers. We’ve seen what our efforts to help the rebels in Egypt have done. Churches have been burned to the ground and Christians have been driven out of their homes. “[A] video from Mideast Christian News shows a Muslim crowd attacking St. George Diocese of the Coptic Church in Sohag, Egypt — setting fire to the church and then ripping out a cross from a wall around the building.”
