Obama May Be Walking Into an Impeachment Trap

The irony of the Obama presidency may hinge on whether he attacks Syria. He began his presidency prematurely winning the Nobel Peace Prize and could end it being impeached for starting an illegal war without congressional or UN approval – violating both domestic and international law.

Yesterday 163 Members of Congress sent letters to President Obama telling him that under the US Constitution he is required to get congressional approval before beginning a military attack. The letter drafted by Rep. Scott Rigel (R-VA) had 140 signatures, 119 Republicans and 21 Dems. Rep. Barbara Lee also circulated a letter that had 53 signers, that calls on the president to seek congressional approval.

The Rigel letter warned Obama that engaging in military action “would violate the Separation of Powers Clause that is clearly delineated in the Constitution.” They also note that the justification for war in Libya also violated the Constitution. The Lee letter warns that “we all swore to uphold and defend” the Constitution; and that we should not engage in an “unwise war – especially without adhering to our own Constitutional requirements.” In their concluding paragraph they warn “Before weighing the use of military force, Congress must fully debate and consider the facts and every alternative . . .”

President Obama knows the limits of his powers. In fact, if there is an impeachment proceeding his own words will be quoted. When he was running for president, Obama told the Boston Globe: “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

Vice President Biden, in a 2007 campaign event in Iowa, went further, not only stating clearly that the president does not have unilateral power to conduct military attacks but threatening impeachment of President Bush if he did so.

The Green Shadow Cabinet of the United States was explicit calling on President Obama to seek congressional approval before going to war, noted that under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the US Constitution, it is the Congress that determines whether the United States goes to war. They also highlight the potential of impeachment writing: “If President Obama launches an attack without prior explicit authorization by Congress, he will have committed an offense worthy of impeachment.” [Disclosure, I serve as Attorney General in the alternative cabinet.]

If impeachment proceedings are held all of the doubts about the war will come out. People in the military have protected themselves by telling President Obama that they have serious doubts about a military attack. The have warned Obama about potential blowback, misusing the military to send a message with no clear strategy, drawing the US into a vexing war when they are already burdened by a complicated withdrawal from Afghanistan. Some have used words like “potentially devastating consequences” Reportedly, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey, has warned in great detail about the risks and pitfalls of U.S. military intervention in Syria, warning “deeper involvement is hard to avoid.”

If the war goes wrong, and wars almost always go wrong, President Obama will see the memorandums of various members of the military who warned him. And, they will be called to testify and tell the world that President Obama was warned but went ahead anyway – without congressional approval in violation of the Constitution.

What could go wrong? Syria has the ability to defend itself and attack US military vessels. Iran and Russia have already indicated they will be drawn into the conflict. Threats of retaliation are already being made and troop movements are occurring. Russia is moving two additional naval ships, a missile cruiser and a large anti-submarine vessel, into the Mediterranean to strengthen its presence in case of a US attack. Russia and Saudi Arabia have exchanged threats over Syria. Russia threatening an attack on Saudi Arabia if the US attacks Syria with President Putin ordering a “massive military strike” against Saudi Arabia in the event that the West attacks Syria. Saudi Arabia is threatening Chechen terrorist attacks on Russia at the Olympics.

Iran, Syria and Hezbollah have threatened to retaliate against Israel and other US allies in the Middle East in the event of a US attack on Syria. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, told the Tasnim news website, that an attack on Syria “means the immediate destruction of Israel.”

Obama gave Assad a red line. The American people have given Obama a red line.

Never going to happen.

Obama could Nuke Kansas and strafe the survivors.

It would not even be on the news.

Obama doesn't want to be a lame duck. Him becoming a lame duck may be a start though.

If Obama goes ahead with this Syria attack and things spiral out of control things could start to change.

Not that I want the Syria attack to happen, I don't.

Is a pity things have come to this point of where there is one set of laws for zer0 and his crowd and another set of laws for everyone else. Reminders of king George and a little one to be King George awaits in the arms of his nation of Britain. Strange times. Thank God for the British Parliament and yesterdays vote (two days ago). At least the entire civilized world is beginning to stop their worship of our zer0 and his crowd. Is an uplifting sign, I pray.

If Obama attacks Syria and Syria and Iran attack Israel then things will have started to change in the world, and not for the better.

Every action will cause reactions.

Way things may be right now, may not be how they will be in the future.

Did the liberals side with Snowden or Obama?

Could there be bipartisan support for impeachment at least at the grassroots level?

Was This Foreseen and Planned For

What could the purpose be ?

What better way to cover up Bengahzi, Fast and furious, IRS, Wind and Solar panel gate, NSA spying on US, Over-riding the constittution? Don’t look into who accompaines Obama on his many trips around the world at taxpayer expence ? Were they the heavy hitters or their friends holding the president’s hand isn’t that pay back at US taxpayer expence?. Isn’t that an impeachable offense ??

Now if somebody even suggests impeachment. Get to your black base voters, whom you’ve done nothing for,.all worked up. Pick on some security guard who’s doing his job. Accuse him of being racist ,even though he is part black..

But his last name sounds “jewish.”Who’s doing surveilance in an mixed race area of modest means a where there’s been robberies and burgalries by young blacks. Now call that surveilance stalking, the area he’s patrolling owned by rich whities, and the guard of course he’s white.

That person he’s watching a 10 year old black kid and a saint ,not six foot two 160 pound 16 year old, who gets killed fighting over a gun. . Now paint a target on the security guards back .Ain’t that neat ? What better way to discourage any investigation into malfeasance and corruption by organizing the base for riots in the streets ? Think it’s too far fetched ? Think it’s not working ? Look again http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3051558/posts

You are encouraged to Print this up or email and -pass it on....Why ? Time to expose citizens to the face the facts that they may believe whatever activity they get involved in is perfectly legitimate and legal. If it suits their purposes this regime and its adhearants will paint a target on their back. Wether it’s a black hispanic who gets turned into a “white hispanic” or union members losing their health care benefits if Obamacare gets funded.

To date the political opposition known as Republicans has yet to mention or comment on this example of how this regime operates. Time to ask them why ?

The republican leadership was given as they have in the past, while running the 2012 campaigns for Senate, House, and President an opportunity to spell out what was in Obamacare but didn’t http://www.theusmat.com/ or even mention Democrats had refused any reference to God in the Democratic at their 2012 convention . A new attack furthur hypenating black and “hispanic” from “white” Americans, which included Jews when the Demo-Com’s created a unconsionable use of the security guard incident to furthur their socialist agenda. That has resulted in martyrs because of its inflamatory assertions. Which the political opposition ignores while claiming to search for “demographics” in other directions.

Time to ask them why ?

Obama topples stable Middle East regimes so that radical Islamists can take over. Is the pattern not clear? This seems another example of the same. We ran guns to Al Qaeda from Benghazi. That’s who is opposing Assad. So now the U.S. is backing the perpetrators of 9/11. Obama surrounds himself with Muslim Brotherhood advisors. Ditto for Hillary Clinton. Their policies can be categorized as treasonous.

Impeaching him at least theoretically occupies him with defending himself from impeachment. May give him at least slightly less time between golf rounds and vacations to wreak havoc on the world.

When they try to paint a target on all of our backs they lose. The bully loses when he has to bully everyone at once and gets outnumbered.

The future is a funny thing but it is true for every action there is an opposite and equal or greater reaction. When dealing with emotions or rather people’s emotions for every action the reaction is normally greater than the prior action which generated a reaction. We stand at the abyss and wonder how deep this abyss is, while only an action will tell us. Is wise not to step into the abyss. Soon we will know how wise our leaders are should they leap willingly into the abyss. Will be reminded, by someone certain from the other side should they move forward to wind up going backward in the recoil of what will be an emotional response. Am not certain will go down the way am portraying but people’s emotions are nasty and can be more nasty than an angel feels free to tread upon.

Yes, the pattern is clear and worse than treasonous. It is not just an affront to our country, but also to the citizens of the world.
