FORT HOOD, Texas—If Nidal Hasan plans to welcome a death sentence as a pathway to martyrdom, the rules of military justice won't let him go down without a fight—whether he likes it or not. The Army psychiatrist was sentenced Wednesday to die for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting rampage that killed 13 people and wounded more than 30. But before an execution date is set, Hasan faces years, if not decades, of appeals. And this time, he won't be allowed to represent himself.
"If he really wants the death penalty, the appeals process won't let it happen for a very long time," said Joseph Gutheinz, a Texas attorney licensed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. "The military is going to want to do everything at its own pace. They're not going to want to let the system kill him, even if that's what he wants."

While he’s waiting, stick Hasan in a windowless special needs cell in Leavenworth death row & leave him there like a potted plant, tended to by masked anonymous caregivers.
And take away his Koran.
He should be tortured hourly to reveal WHO HELPED HIM
from the White Hut down.
Of course, there is no interest in accountability.
So the findings are that
he did it alone, in his - ‘work place accident’.
he’ll throw his koran in the toilet, blame the guards, Obama will say that crossed his red line, and he’ll drone strike Leavenworth.
Hopefully, he’ll stop being paid by the tax payer and stop being called a Major and start being called a “home-grown” terrorist...cripes!

long appeals? Well if he sits there like a bump on a log as he did this trial, those appeals will be pretty short.
At least he’s now “Private Hasan”.
I have great sympathy for his medical caregivers. Maybe he could die from complications and avoid the show of an execution, which is what he is living for, in his twisted mind.
He should sit in a cell till he dies of natural causes. There should be NO interviews with an admiring press, no books, no TV specials.
Unfortunately, there will be.
I don’t see how he deserves any appeals, since he has never claimed to be innocent.
This isn’t going to stop the Muzzies in our military from doing the same in the future.
From the Feds point of view this means they need to allow more Muzzies in all branches. Very similar to importing more of them into America after 9/11.
And if they are a member of Muzzy Bros. or an affiliated organization? That puts them at the head of the line.
How much money, resources and time has been wasted on Nidel with more yet to be wasted. He should have had a quick trial and execution long ago. Instead he has been given a grandstand from which to promote his religion and claim to martyrdom.
All of his assets should be seized and distributed to his victims. His pay and benefits should be terminated.
