Three hospitals in Syria's Damascus governorate that are supported by the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) have reported to MSF that they received approximately 3,600 patients displaying neurotoxic symptoms in less than three hours on the morning of Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Of those patients, 355 reportedly died.

IF GAS WAS REALLY USED - WHO DID IT?

It seems no one really knows.
So far I have heard no serious discussion of facts showing which side used gas.

Obama did give the rebels a pretty good idea of what course of action was in their best interests.

Assad knows if gas is used and the US pins it on on him, the US will aid the rebels.

He doesn’t want that.

The rebels know that if gas is used and its use is pinned on Assad, the US will aid them against Assad.

They would like that.

However, the reported symptoms of the patients, in addition to the epidemiological pattern of the events—characterized by the massive influx of patients in a short period of time, the origin of the patients, and the contamination of medical and first aid workers—strongly indicate mass exposure to a neurotoxic agent.

Interesting. This is the first mention I have seen of first aid workers and medical personnel being afflicted, which would be consistent with use of CW-agent. The photos previously published have shown medical workers and other civilians handling the dead or injured without any protection, and apparently without any ill-effects.

When I did my military service we were taught how to clean personnel and equipment suspected of CW contamination. Even in our northern climate just the threat of CW-use constituted a major thermal load on the personnel due to the protective equipment.

Exactly how dangerous weapons grade chemical agents are was borne home to me when I met and talked to a British scientist who had been investigating the use of CW in Angola during the 80s. (Yes, the Cubans used chemical warfare against South Africa and her allies. It was never made public because the SA authorities didn't want to upset the home front.) Once she had been in a medical tent close to the front taking samples from an exposed soldier who was being treated with atropine drip. She had had to remove one glove to be able to carry out the procedure. The soldier coughed, and a minute drop of saliva hit her on the exposed skin of the hand - minutes later she had been in the bed next to the soldier also with atropine drip.

That's how potent weapons grade CW agents are.

My guess is that the people killed or injured in Damascus have been exposed to an industrial grade toxic agent. But we will see what results the UN team will come up with.

This is a combination Benghazi/TM ping.

There are pictures of the tunnels under the area where this happened. Some of them were contaminated and some held weapons and gas masks. It was not in assad’s best interest to do this. I have yet to hear that people were awakened by a rocket attack. The way it seems to have gone down was by stealth in the middle of the night, That sounds more like cannisyers were employed at low level attacking people in their sleep. How hard would it have been to distribute cannisters, pop them open, spray, then remove the cannisters when they were empty?

Found it:

http://news.yahoo.com/video/syrian-troops-claim-chemical-agents-173032950.html

Whatever that is in the film clip it is not a state-of-the-art chemical warfare laboratory. But could be a do-it-yourself try-out.

Of course if the CW was spread by missiles there should have been some people injured by shrapnel, blast etc. Also, as I mentioned lots of first-aid workers would have been injurded/killed by the CW agents. However, all that is lost in the fog of war. No one knows at the moment - whatever the politicians say.....

It would not surprise me at all if Obama had the Muslim Brotherhood committed this human atrocity to justify a “ red line in the sand” intervention. It make Obama heap big man!

But I cannot get emotional about it particularly. The left has waxed compassionate whenever it suits them, and now they need a diversion from the Obama debacle presidency.

Remember Saddam Hussein gasing 4000 Kurds?Bill Clinton had just taken over from GH Bush, and Clinton did nothing, same in the Huti -Tutsi genocide, and later , same in Somalia and the Sudan.

Can any one blame the American people if they are somewhat skepticle of Obamas leftist , new found compassion, which will be sure to create another Vietnam, instead of letting these enemies of the West kill each other off?

I guess in the long run if they killed each other off, oil prices would go down because of Muslim disunity on price setting in OPEC. But Obama is hauling water for the House of Saud, supporting the Sunni cause, preventing pipeline construction at home, and keeping oil prices high. This Obama is doing not for AMerica, but for the House of Saud and their running dogs, the British and others, keeping the money spigots open for the political classes of Europe , who have invested heavily in Arab oil and in its culture of Islamic expansion.

Israel is also in the lurch if Obama strikes, and in this he wants to punish or destroy Israel, which now has armed enemies on its Southern, Eastern and Northern borders, as well as Gaza to its West. Rather cheeky of Obama to decide to throw the Jews to the dogs of war , is it not? Obama deserves to be turfed from office, its been a long time coming, for many reasons, including betrayal of our allies.

Guess what. EVERY single image of the tunnels which were in a guardian story that I POSTED MYSELF are gone along with the same various images on other news sites, including cnn, that speaks to the tunnels under Damascus suburbs. SOME small snippets remain on a few videos, but all they show is the entrance to one tunnel.
THIS:

http://shoebat.com/2013/08/27/evidence-syrian-rebels-used-chemical-weapons-not-assad/

is the closest set of vids I can find now and all the stories under the tunnel headline have changed including the one I posted. The western press now only showing dead bodies in place of the images that showed the tunnels. This is quite amazing.
This development convinces me even more that assad did not do this. They are setting up rhe news stories to conform to what the regime is saying, and doing the same in Britain.

Mornin’ all,

I didn’t have time to read the Syrian threads and I don’t know if you have this info I found in an Egyptian paper, el Mogaz under the title:

“The Free Army INJECTS corpses with chemicals to convict the regime”

Here’s the video, maybe our intelligence agencies “acknowledge” the facts instead of following 0b0z0’s agenda to create Syrian emirates under al Qaeda rule.

http://almogaz.com/news/2013/08/28/1068239

Egypt turned on the MB. The agenda for the Arab spring couldn’t wrestle Egypt down, thus, Syria HAS TO GO DOWN!

Ralph peters got it right but no one wants to listen!

Tony Blair explains the Middle East and the rsults of letting Political Islam rule! He’s is talking about Egypt and Syria. Here are excerpts from a Brit who knows the Middle East more than many Middle Easterners!

Egypt:

“Egypt is not a creation of 19th or 20th-century global power games. It is an ancient civilisation stretching back thousands of years and is imbued with a fierce national pride. The army has a special place in its society. The people do want democracy, but they will be disdainful of Western critics whom they will see as utterly naive in the face of the threat to democracy that the Muslim Brotherhood posed.”

Syria:

“In this struggle, we should not be neutral. From the threat of the Iranian regime to the pulverising of Syria to the pains of the Egyptian revolution, from Libya to Tunisia, in Africa, Central Asia and the Far East, wherever this extremism is destroying the lives of innocent people, we should be at their side and on it.”

http://syria360.wordpress.com/2013/08/21/urgent-facts-about-the-chemical-weapons-attack-in-damascus/

Maybe the West will listen and not push Jarrette to attack Syria by forcing 0b0z0 to lead from HIS BEHIND, AGAIN!

You’re absolutely right! The Saudi royals deadly enemies are el Qaeda, MB and others.

The only explanation is “religious preference!”

- they hate Assad who is an Alwite, a small sect of Shi’a. This is why he’s supported by Iran and Hizbollah who are Shi’a

- the only way to get rid of the Shi’a in the Arab countries and cut Iran off is to support the only very violent fringe of Sunnis against them. Note that the al Qaeda and Sunnis “Free Army” are bombing Shi’a mosques in Lebanon!

- in Egypt there was an uproar weeks before removing Morsi when MB “dragged” and murdered 4 Shiites in a suburb of Cairo, precisely because of the Sunni vs. Shi’a thingy. So, in Egypt, it’s a win win situation for the Saudis to support the military and a secular government that will end the MB internationally and that’s not in doubt no matter how long it takes.

BTW, trust the Brits to know all of the above; they mapped the ME problems themselves to make sure no ME country or any “Arab” unity is ever achieved.

Example: Saddam’s screamed that Kuwait is the 19 th province of Iraq; he was right! The Brits cut off a peace of Iraq from the predominately Shiite Iraq, especially in the southern part and put Sunnis in charge!

.....and, the rest is history.
