So, wait. It wasnt the Syrian regime, but rather the Syrian rebels who used sarin nerve gas recently? Thats the story being reported tonight by Reuters, from actually named sources among U.N. investigators. But will anybody notice? Or, with Israeli airstrikes already under way, and the neo-cons already demanding another new war, is the news too little, too late again?
The week before last, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, reading from a letter sent by the White House to Congress, announced that the Administration believes that the Syrian government recently used chemical weapons against its own people. If true, it would be a move which President Obama had previously described as a red line and a game changer in the Administrations policy on the two-year old civil war still raging in that country.

Bomb Somebody, Damnit!
Neocons, eh? So even when Obama does something us conservatives are screaming is wrong, it is the conservatives fault, eh?
Insane.
Chuck Hagel is the new Colin Powell?
The rebels stand to gain the most, so it would be ligical to suspect them.
Barack THE NEOCON FOREIGNER Obama. Sounds good.
who is the new John Kerry, who is the new John McLame who is the new, Flimsy Gramsey, even Pelosi was seen putting on a bomber jacket and headgear.
Frankly, if the POTUS was a Republican, this would be the torch carried by liberals everywhere.
Liberals from Hillary to Bill to Gore to Pelosi warned of Saddam’s WMDs, saying they were a clear threat, we now find the shoe on the other foot.
While I suspect everything coming from this socialist admin, I will not act like a liberal until I see more proof.
Assad is winning the war. He is backed by Putin.
What would he gain by doing this?
Who has been found in possesion of gas in recent history?
You caught that too, eh? Damned neocons!
There is no evidence—not a single piece of evidence pointing to the government. All evidence points to the terrorists . 1. ASSAD’S ARMY HAD DECIMATED THE TERRORIST AL Qaeda. The Terrorists had lost the airport they thought they had . They has no place to go and were hiding among the population. The attack with gas was at 3 AM so no one would see what happened. 3. Assad had nothing to gain!! by killing innocent woman and Children? 4. We no the terrorists Al Qaeda will kill innocent people. The area they gassed was predominately Shiite— the hated enemy of Al Qaeda.
Are we actually going bomb based on no evidence who used the gas? We don’t even know what kind of gas it was!!
We’re worried about chemical weapons and they’re busy decapitating each other. None of our business really.
Not only that, I think to myself who decides which chemical weapons are so horrible and which aren’t? Seems to me we are using them against our own citizens when we use tear gas. Not to say I’m against tear gas, but I wouldn’t doubt we have our own stockpile of the naughty kind.
It’s good to take note of who uses chemical weapons but unless they threaten Israel directly I think any preemptive strike would be extremely foolish. They can always get these weapons no matter how many cruise missiles we fire.
Its not about the gas, its an excuse to decimate Syrias militart so the MB can take over.
Nothing.
The only people who gain are the Muslim Brotherhood and their al-Qaeda proxies, who will be very happy to let the USA take over the fighting.
Ready, fire, aim.
Terrorist rebels using chemical weapons on their own people to give a pretense to the US coming in on their side?
What a preposterous theory!
It should be easy-peasy to disprove... We can just ask all the survivors of Benghazi what they were really sending to the Syrian rebels that was worth lying about, obfuscating, dragging their feet, and giving monthly polygraphs to the principals and sending them into a witness protection program.
We’ll ask them just as soon as we can find them, and the regime is no longer threatening them. And then everything will be made plain.
I mean this isn’t even connect-the-dots. This is flashing neon arrows. Does anyone really think this chemical weapons operation wasn’t a clumsily planned and implemented scheme of the regime? I don’t mean the Assad regime, I mean the Asshat regime...
