Lawmaker warns Christians over new gay therapy law: We’ll take your children

When New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a law last week banning therapists for troubled teenagers from trying to help the teens rid themselves of unwanted homosexual attraction, he may have opened the door to the state to remove children from parents’ custody for getting them therapy the state doesn’t like.

That’s what Democratic Assemblyman Tim Eustace indicated Wednesday when he likened Christian parents who enroll their children in “gay conversion therapy” or “reparative therapy” to abusers who don’t deserve custody of their own offspring. “What this [laws] does is prevent things that are harmful to people,” the openly gay Eustace told a Philadelphia-area radio station.

“If a parent were beating their child on a regular basis, we would step in and remove that child from the house. If you pay somebody to beat your child or abuse your child, what’s the difference?”

There are plenty of scriptures about how we are suppose to be engaged in the world even if not ‘of’ it. Arm yourself with a few of those before it comes up next time.

I’ve tried that tack. She’s got her mind made up.

And she’s far from alone. Most of her little old lady friends are the same way.

In a way I can understand. They didn’t expect to spend their golden years in Sodom and Gomorrah. DeNile runs deep with that demographic.

And they don’t want to admit that they are, in part, responsible for things having gone so far.

Yep! Chrisy is a scared. lol

Yet we have no known “science” that can conclusively point to anything about being predisposed to homosexual attration other than indoctrination and lack of proper role models during these important years of a child/teen.

Not this demograhic. Little old white ladies in the deep south are NOT commie or even socialist by and large.

They are, however, mostly looking East waiting for the rapture.

Rapture will save them from the impending tyranny.

They’ll get in the cattle cars still looking east. They’ll march into the showers still believing they’ll be raptured before the shower heads activate.

It’s depressing actually, to the rest of us.

It couldn’t become a law if Chris Christie hadn’t signed the bill.

Remember that during the Republican Primary in 2016.

I see these polls that say Christie is our only chance to beat Billary - Horse-pucky. This is the Washington establishment trying to stuff another Bush up our rear-ends.

Sigh...this is not going to end well.

There seems to be no way to convince these people to leave us alone. Soon there is going to be serious push-back & it's not going to be pleasant for anyone.

They want everyone raised by the collectivity and this is a way of destroying the family so the state can take over.

They can’t have their own, so why does this surprise anyone?

Recruitment. Gay’s recruit.

The obverse of the argument never came up in the story:

“So, if two homosexual parents try to actively convert their obviously heterosexual child into a homosexual child, Mr. Eustace, we’d assume you’d be coming for their children too, correct?”

Of course, that question never came up.

As long as a kid is a kid, and not an adult, and as long as any therapy is not tyrannical, not abusive, not physical and includes and requires agreed cooperation by the person receiving the therapy, the state is wrong, morally and scientifically, to conclude that self-identification as “gay” is a pre-concluded process from which nothing in nurture can alter, as SCIENCE cannot identify a “gay” gene or a set of “gay” genes that genetically determines “gayness”.

There may be epigenetic factors, even in the womb (that affect nueral networks and/or how their manner of development), but science cannot it knows there is any definite epigenetic factors.

That leaves nurture as the best possible location for any “gay” development factors. That also leaves the possibility that nurture can somehow represent some factor extremely early in child development, even in infancy, without any “gay” identity to it at the time. That also means that factors arrising from nurture much later in child development can be involved. That also leaves the possibility of any of the above being true in general but each only true in some cases and not in others. That leaves the possibility that what nurture has already done might be undone, in some cases, and might be more difficult to be undone in others.

However, altogether it all still leaves nurture, not genetics, as, somehow, scientifically, the most likely route by which “gay” self-identity is established, and especially for the immature person (kids and teens) it - nurture (parents, family, relationships, education, thinking), including “therapy”, represents a scientifically legitimate route for parents, kids and teens to question that identity.

However again, I will only add, that while we are speaking of mostly immature persons in this case - kids and teens - “therapy” to change “gay” identity in adults has not had much success and has been abandoned by many former advocates of it. Maybe, just maybe, the failure was - in some cases - that no legitimate therapy was possible, offered or tried at an earlier and immature phase in life.

What really chaps my ass is that if they want to get therapy to convert TO being gay, or to "embrace" their homosexuality, THAT type of counseling is still acceptable.

If you write a law describing the act of counseling a child to "reject" a particular sexuality is abusive, then surely counseling a child to "embrace" a particular sexuality is just as abusive. The whole premise is that the child will "naturally" embrace or reject "their" sexual orientation. But, if you encourage a child to become gay, then aren't you still dallying with the "natural" selective order of the child's orientation?

This is what I would be challenging in court! This is a law that NEEDS a court challenge!

If only that were true.

I’m sure there were a lot of German Christians waiting for Rapture in the 1930’s.

How’d that work out for them?
