Sen. Mike Lee is rejecting the argument that Republicans intend to shut down the federal government over efforts to defund Obamacare. Agreed!
There are thousands of other reasons to shut down the government.

The main reason Dems fear a government shutdown: People might realize they don’t need most of the agencies that get shut down.
Essential services continue. The remainder is mostly fluff.

Back in 1993 with Newt vs Clinton I( was hoping and praying the Govt (Feds) would shut down. Clinton was not nearly the socialist that JugEars is but even back then Clinton was trying to make it out to be a gigantic disaster if the Feds shut down for a while.
