I don’t see the American people meekly giving over their hard assets to the “government” this time around.

There will be a lot of blood shed should they try this.

The wife and I were discussing last night what we do with the 401K. Pull it out, pay the taxes....and then what?? Buy a warehouse and fill it full of non perishables for later sale or barter?

Whatever we do, we are going to get screwed.

And, there are long lines of women to sign up for combat all over the country!

I'm in the same boat. I figure it is a gamble but a likely case that before massive inflation there will be a period of deflation where 'cash is king'. When that happens, you should have plans in place to convert that cash into physical gold and then stash it...very well and secure.

If that works out you've successfully converted a large part of your estate into tangible assets to allow you to buy back in whenever things stabilize...whether it is on the US dollar or whatever replaces it. These tangibles are NOT for day to day survival but merely asset protection when things recover after a crash. Because gold will then eventually have great value.

It is a gamble because if there is no deflation, you've screwed the pooch.

I just finished it last night.

A good read and a close to accurate take on the Federal Reserve and the CIA.

Take back and cleanse our nation of all the evil. Starve the central socialist government by avoidance of taxes.

I agree. They will try it though, as no one executed any official or banker in the Cyprus situation. That was the blueprint.

They're not betting on a lot of armed "American cowboys" resisting. They haven't *yet* reduced us to the cowed subservience level of the Europeans. But they're getting there.

I know. But I’m referring to hard, on hand assets. Gold, silver, food and medicine stores. Hurricanes, storms, related natural disasters and terror incidents as in Boston are all warmups for the big one. One watches the hammer of the government drop on the public in those situations and we get a *little* foreshadowing of what they are thinking for us in the future.

I don’t know for certain of course, but I believe the biggest positive step anyone of us can take is to locate to a non or less urban area. The more spread out we are, the tougher the logistics for the jack boots.

I live in a small town with about 50K people in the entire county. We have about 30 members of the city police, don’t know about the county. A lot of those cops hang out at our local gun shop. There are a lot of ordinary folks that are properly armed.

There is of course the national guard. I don’t know how they would play into it locally. But I see us a being more difficult for the bad guys to secure than the urban areas. I wish my father was still alive. That was his area of expertise in the USMC. I’d be milking him for advice right now.
