Third Gender Option Introduced by Germany for Birth Certificates
The Christian Post ^ | 8/22/13 | Katherine Weber

Germany will permit parents to select a "third gender" on birth certificates for their children, should the child want to identify with a certain gender in the future. Germany is the first country in Europe to pass this type of legislation.

The new law, which is to take effect throughout the country in November, will allow a child born with both male and female physical attributes, also known as a transsexual or hermaphrodite, to pick the option of "gender blank" on their birth certificate so they may choose a "male" or "female" gender later in life. The child may also choose to keep the third gender option forever.

The low deep rumble you hear is the turning of thousands of years of Germanic warrior tribes in their graves.

Well....there are hermaphrodites. And I’m guessing out of eighty million Germans....there’s probably a dozen born each year. The Germans in this case....are awful dang precise about things. So this category gets the doctors off the hook and gives them a realistic option. My only concern is that you have to be born into this category, and you don’t announce some correction at age forty with an operation.

Is there a chromosome arrangement I am unaware of? Multiple sex organs are one thing but the genes do not lie.

The law is intended only for hermaphrodites (supposedly). But I’m guessing that some will leave their child’s gender blank because its PC. In short, the law will be exploited by sicko parents.

Yes, there are typically extra sex chromosomes. These are truly unfortunate individuals. Most of them end up identifying with one sex or another, but things can get complicated early in life when their guardians attempt to make the distinction for them. And the sex organs themselves are not always functional.

OK I need some help here. There is XX and XY. Where and how do the others come into play? My understanding has always been you have a Hermaphrodite with whichever/both organs, but the actual genetics base to one of the two...male or female.

And that the ‘confusion’ came pre genetic science.

The churches, Protestant and Catholic, in Germany are just about empty on Sundays for many years now

In order to attend Catholic (don’t know about the others) church taxes to the star must be paid i think it’s 10%

Practically no one gets married. The state probably discouraged that as well

They pay a very high rate of annual taxes. The government takes care of them

They go along with it. They seem content but not happy

This is who the liberals admire.

And a third gender- state sponsored. The Bible and God’s laws are passé

Just crazy

The state tax applies to both Catholic and Protestant churches. I’m not sure about synagogues, however, and it currently doesn’t apply to mosques or Muslim religious organizations, though the state is currently looking into that, as per a friend who works for the government in Berlin.

Yeah, if it’s blank, how would anyone know it wasn’t just a mistake? Something should be put in there. I vote for “/”, as in slanted.

XXY is a rare condition, but it happens. The story says the child chooses. How can an infant child choose?

Gender is a grammatical category.

Sex is a biological one.

Saying that a human being has a gender is like saying that a sentence is either diabetic or not diabetic.

Granted, it’s wiki but...

Klinefelter syndrome or Klinefelter’s syndrome, is the symptoms of a disease caused by additional X genetic material in males. Also known as 47,XXY or XXY , is a genetic disorder in which there is at least one extra X chromosome to a standard human male karyotype, for a total of 47 chromosomes rather than the 46 found in genetically normal humans.[1] While females have an XX chromosomal makeup, and males an XY, individuals with Klinefelter syndrome have at least two X chromosomes and at least one Y chromosome.[2] Because of the extra chromosome, individuals with the condition are usually referred to as “XXY males”, or “47,XXY males”.[3]

Still base male.

Which is made more confusing by either a girl (das Mädchen) or young woman (das Fräulein).
