Bystanders Aid Bicyclist Hit by Car in Tonawanda

Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) A young bicyclist was rescued by a number of onlookers after he was hit by a car at a busy Tonawanda intersection Thursday afternoon.

Angelo tells WBEN's Tom Bauerle he was about to make a turn at Sheridan and Delaware when he saw a car hit a young man on a bicycle. "She says he just came in front of her," says Angelo. He cleared the intersection and jumped into action, and was not alone. "It had to be at least a dozen people, everybody, men, women..." described Angelo. "The kid was screaming to help him. When I stood up, people from all over helped him. When we picked up the car, I screamed for someone to drag him out." Angelo says the boy's leg was "bent in half."

Another witness says he saw people running to the scene to rescue the boy. "Half his body was underneath the car," says the witness. "It appears he may have some fractures, but his head and everything looked pretty good."

> Start obeying the law.

The law isn’t working very well, but in trying not to cross the center line, I am starting to pass these people more closely, which they don’t like (more f*** you and fingers).

You’re not doing a bad job being a pr?ck bicyclist. Your fellow pri?cks will congratulate you, before one or another of you gets cracked on the pavement.

> The cyclist in question

no, there are many to choose from. Just thinking there’s a wall around you doesn’t make it so. You’re likely to get your body busted up nicely some time, and I feel very sorry for the motorist who does it to you. But I won’t feel sorry for you, because like your fellow bird-head fools, you’re an arrogant, self deceived pr?ck.

> mistaking the brakes for the gas and driving through the wall of the Golden Corral

something to think about when you’re out there
- going at an unsafely low speed
- hard to see
- having no protection around you

dumb$hit

I was responding to your assertion that no motorists are being put at risk.

Crossing the yellow line, even though it’s legal, is a risky proposition, which is something motorists have to do daily to deal with bicyclists. If you can do deal with 10 or 20 spread out cyclists in 7 seconds you’re either a better driver than me, or don’t give the cyclists as much courtesy as me.

Or the bicyclist couple who decided to drive north on I-25, I was southbound so I was able to observe rather than be part of the fiasco, they had to have a Highway Patrol escort to prevent them from being driven over (I presume), the backup was over 8 miles.

Those 90% of self absorbed cyclists give the other 10% a bad name.

The conclusion I have come to is that most cyclists are Leftists whose sole mission on their trips is to inflict as much of their belief on others as they can.

Crossing the yellow line, even though it’s legal, is a risky proposition, which is something motorists have to do daily to deal with bicyclists.

So motorists do it daily, it's a constant thing, a jillion times every day, and the number of motorists whose deaths are caused annually by cyclists is......what?

I'll help you with that research. Other than the surprising number of deaths from face-to-face altercations and fistfights (mostly in the UK, Australia and New Zealand) there is ONE case (about 10 years ago in South Georgia) where:

- a cyclist ran a red light, caused a woman motorist to swerve into the path of an oncoming semi. Ultimately, the cyclist was sentenced to two years for manslaughter. I HAVE FOUND NO OTHER CASES; if you can, I'd be happy for you to enlighten me.

Alternatively you could simply make some up from whole cloth, as you do with your imagined motivations of cyclists.

Actually it sounds like the law is just fine; it's just that you're not driving very well.

Old-Ager:something to think about when you’re out there

- going at an unsafely low speed

My speed is fine. I have been riding for decades, very heavily for the last one. No collisions or dangerous spills; it's great!

- hard to see

Wow, you weren't kidding about being an 'old-ager'. Maybe time for new prescription? Or maybe just let the grandkids have the keys. In the meantime, I'll avoid the window seats at the Golden Corral.

- having no protection around you

My protection is my alertness and my firm refusal to do anything illegal or stupid (since cyclist error if the cause of about 5 of every 10 cyclist fatalities.) In the case of the young man (whose death you are so classlessly celebrating) was traveling east-west at the time, he was at fault (if North-South it was the driver's.)

It is a constant thing.

Now you can go back to your self absorbed cycling.

It is a constant thing.

What is a constant thing? Cyclist interactions with motorists? That was a given.

Motorist deaths from mean scary cyclists? Ask your doctor about the dosage on your Xanax.

You making up stuff out of whole cloth? I believe you.

If they want access to the roads then they should be made to pay for them via license plates at the same cost of our vehicles......

Castlebar, like many others, you are lying to yourself.
You have no right to endanger my speed of travel, my safety (yes), or my peace of mind.
BTW I’ve logged thousands of miles on bicycles. But I stayed out of the way of cars, a practice that’s not popular.

That’s part of a program called “Complete Streets” which in turn is part of Agenda 21. Say that too much in public and you’ll get called a nut or a tin-foil-hatter. So you know it’s spot on. As in, if you’re catching flak, you’re probably over the target.

"Ask your doctor about the dosage on your Xanax." "You making up stuff out of whole cloth?"

Those kinds of 'arguments' (Jillions, really?) mean one thing.

You realize you've lost and have only hyperbole to fall back on.

You should try to be be more gracious.

Wow. Any backup data? Or are you going to stick with the laughable gratuitous assertions?

You have no right to endanger my speed of travel, my safety (yes), or my peace of mind.

Agreed. And I never will.

BTW I’ve logged thousands of miles on bicycles. But I stayed out of the way of cars, a practice that’s not popular.

OK. so were these miles logged on the road, where you say I should be shamed to cycle, or in your hallucinations?

Obviously you live under a rock. Elpaso Countyline, a road I have drive to get home. You realize you've lost and have only hyperbole to fall back onp>Actually I have asked unambiguous questions which you have dodged like a whining b!tch

Bicyclist's are always putting drivers in danger.

And you have either

(a)provided copious evidence for this, with names motorists killed by cyclist misbehavior,(NOT)

(b) or proven that you are have other neuro-psycho issues going on.

There I no "c".

or do we cross the center to pass them, risking a head on? One of these days............

Threatening to kill someone on the internet? Smart...............
