“As I transition into this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me,” Manning said in a statement read during an exclusive TODAY show interview with lawyer David Coombs. “I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female. Given the way I have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible.”
While Fort Leavenworth, the prison where Manning will serve her sentence, does not offer hormone therapy, Coombs told host Savannah Guthrie he would fight to ensure his client received the medical treatment she needed. He also said he and Manning had not discussed sex reassignment surgery, and that getting her access to the needed hormones is his priority at this time.
Asked why Chelsea Manning had not made a statement about her gender before the trial was over, Coombs said, “She didn’t want this to be something that overshadowed the case.”

Nor will the US military ever provide such treatment at taxpayer’s expense for someone serving federal time for treasonous acts. Living proof that “gays in the military” are not to be trusted with national security and never should be, for reasons that have more to do with their psychological instability.
The taxpayer is now on the hook for unlimited legal representation that will argue all the way to the supremes for this guys “right” to sex change therapy.
Plus..special privileges in the prison.

No. You are not female, you can never be female. You can spend your life pretending but you should not be able to force others to pretend along with you.

This crazy summabitch comes up with “I am really a woman, and I want to be called Chelsea”, and already NBC is calling the fool “her”.
This is a man, crazy as a June bug, but a man , and no amount of surgery Hormone treatments, mutilation or anything else will make him a woman.
He may be even uglier than Chelsea Clinton, but he is still biologically a man.
If he now wants to be treated like a woman, I’m pretty sure the other guys in lockup can make that happen for him.
