Must have had the blessing of Nasrallah and Hezbollah, if they’re not the actual ones who fired them.

Bounce some rubble with the arty and then kick the tires and light the fires. Unleash them for a day or three.

From Debka File: Residents of northern Israel – from the coastal towns in the West to Upper Galilee – have been ordered to go into shelters after sirens alerted the region to four rockets fired from South Lebanon. After returning fire, the IDF closed Galilee air space. Three rockets landed around Nahariya, Acre and Shlomi and further east near Kiryat Shemona. A fourth was intercepted by an Iron Dome battery. The rockets were launched in two volleys from the Tyre and Kleia regions of South Lebanon. No injuries are reported. Police are scouring the area for the fallen ordnance. Developing…

There are unconfirmed reports that the IDF has responded with artillery fire into Lebanon.

They can get a pretty good idea of the rocket origin with the telemetry data available almost instantly from Iron dome. Between that and the likely drone coverage of the area by Israel, the bad guys have to set up hastily, fire, then split before the counter strike arrives. Thankfully, that usually means poor results for the initial launches.

So why are the Shiites in Lebanon (Syria & Iran also) firing on Israel now? The Syrian rebels are Brotherhood Sunnis (Al Qaeda, Egypt, Libya, etc.).

Easy. Common enemy. Draw Israel into the fight and (theoretically) the factions will unite against them, much like Mao and Chaing Kai Shek did against Japan.

Fight each other again at a later date.

If that is the case, and they are successful, all hell is about to break loose! It’s going to do so anyway as soon as Israel attacks Iran.

I'll set aside the biblical angle of it, since that approach doesn't appeal to muslims, anyway. However, if they just looked at it from a 70 year historical perspective, they'll see regional nations have united against Israel in the recent past with poor results.

Seems as though they suffer from the same delusions liberals have when it comes to policy and practice: It only failed because we weren't in charge.

Well......good luck with that.

The White Hut laughed at slavery parades of nuns by White Hut allies,
at crucifixions of Christians in Egypt by White Hut allies,
the selling of captured girls in Syria by White Hut allies,
and the gang rape of US Ambassador by White Hut allies?

Seems obvious what they will do now.

Suprising that it came from Lebanon. Hezbollah has been pretty tied up trying to keep Assad in power; in fact they’ve sent large numbers of fighters into Syria. Of course Lebanon isn’t much more stable that Syria and it only takes a couple of people to fire a bunch of rockets.

There was a bit of news about a Syrian emplacement being shelled a few days ago. The wounded soldiers crossed into Israeli territory for treatment.

Something is up when Hezbollah gets involved from Lebanon. Maybe Iran ordering new operations in anticipation of an Israeli attack against Iran?

That is not a good analogy. The situation is different. There isn’t a revolution in Syria. Its a religious war, with sunni takferi groups wanting to cleanse the region of anyone who is not sunni, especially Shiites who they hate more than anyone.
Provoking Israel to attack Hezbollah would be the stupidest move ever, because Hezbollah would open up a second front while a large amount of their fighters are not even in Lebanon. Hezbollah and Assad are winning in Syria, the longer it drags out the more their numbers will decline and their morale will dwindle.
You are forgetting that Hezbollah will never quit fighting the extremist Sunnis, because regardless if they fight back or not the extremist sunnis still will want to wipe them out, the same goes for the Alawites(Assad regime).
If you think that they will magically unite because Israel will strike Lebanon, you seem to forget about 2008 where Sunni politicians wanted to dismantle hezbollahs telecommunications networks in Lebanon which were highlighted as being one of the key elements which allowed them to fight effectively against Israel in 2006.
There are already elements in Lebanon (Takferi groups) that are trying to spark violence against Shiites.
Why would Hezbollah launch 4 small rockets blindly into Israel? They have nothing to gain, there is no one to unite, they would open up another front(and a much deadlier one at that)
What do free Syrian islamists have to gain? Hezbollah will need to move back most of their fighters from Syria. Hezbollah would be caught between the Israelis and the extremist sunnis. Syria will probably be taken over by the islamists.

If Israel gets involved now against Hezbollah in Lebanon it will be a kingmaker, essentially handing over control of two countries to sunni extremists which is not in their interests. Their best move is to keep the status quo in Syria, and hve Hezbollah lose fighters and the sunnis not gain control.

In any case, I believe it was said in Israel that Hezbollah did not launch the rockets, and I trust the Israelis have eyes in south Lebanon 24/7.
Makes sense to me that its sunni groups that are trying to instigate something to divert hezbollahs attention in Syria.

It's a perfect analogy to the overall idea of the initial question, but not necessarily to the specific incident.

Case in point: Hamas is now feeling the squeeze with the removal of Morsi. After leaving their Damascus HQ in protest over the Syrian conflict, they are again speaking to Hezbollah and Iran with hat (or turban) in hand.

The central point of the outreach revolves around the individual groups' opposition to Israel.

the rocket that was intercepted by iron dome was intercepted as it was heading for that city iron dome was protecting. if not for iron dome that city would have been hit.

Hamas is not a takferi group and are choir boys in the game of religious terrorism and beliefs compared to these groups who believe that anyone who doesn’t believe in the same things they do deserve to be killed.
Look at what happened now, just about an hour ago, two car bombs went off in Lebanon in a purely Sunni city which despises Hezbollah, and there is anger at Hezbollah now.
It obviously is not Hezbollah who did this. Again, there is nothing to gain.
First A Shiite neighbourhood gets car bombed, the people who take responsibility are Syrians and a few were captured and confessed that they rigged 10 cars in total to bomb places. Then people launch four rockets from south Lebanon and run away, the idf acknowledge it is not Hezbollah. The next day two Sunni mosques are hit and within minutes Sunni politicians are blaming Hezbollah.
There are groups trying to start something, you have to see who has the most to gain. Hezbollah has everything to lose, the free Syrian terrorist have everything to gain.

“Rockets Fired on Northern Israel”

This headline always makes me look twice when I see it in the sidebar. For some reason I keep thinking it says:

“Rockets Fired on Northern Ireland”

And my first thought is, ‘Dang, are they at it again?’ and then I see it’s Israel and, sadly, I thknk, ‘Oh, yeah, Muslims.’
