Washington Post Hits Ted Cruz With 12 'Birther' Stories In Two Days
Breitbart ^ | 8/21/13 | John Nolte

Posted on 08/21/2013 8:40:51 AM PDT by Lakeshark

Over the course of just two days, the Washington Post pounded its readers with 12 "birther" stories aimed at Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Headlines included, "Can Ted Cruz Run for President?", "Canadian Born Ted Cruz Releases Birth Certificate Amid Queries if He's Eligible for Presidential Run," "Ted Cruz: I am Not a Canadian," and "No, Ted Cruz "Birthers" are Not the Same as Obama Birthers":
**snip
Though there is no legal question as to Cruz's eligibility to run for president (Cruz was born an American citizen), the Post has spent the last 48 hours bedeviling the Hispanic senator with articles obviously meant to put him on defense and plant a seed of doubt in voters' minds.

The timing of the Post's assault is also curious. By accident or design, it dovetails perfectly with a widely criticized Daily Beast hit-piece on Cruz that also focuses on and questions Cruz's past and background.

Since being elected to the United States Senate in 2012, Cruz has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of President Obama and his signature healthcare plan, ObamaCare. The Washington Post has endorsed Obama for president, and frequently used its news and editorial pages to defend ObamaCare.

In the past, the Post has also launched crusades to destroy the careers of many Republicans, including US Senate candidate George Allen, presidential candidate Mitt Romney, presidential candidate Rick Perry, and current gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli -- among others. The Post's modus operandi is similar to what Cruz is currently facing: The Post floods the zone with stories critical of the Republican in an effort to undermine their candidacy through character assassination.

Look at it this way, he certainly meets the Barack Obama test. I met his dad and that man is an American. However, think another word. “STANDING.” Finally, someone has it. Now, let a Republican primary challenge his qualifications and then get a court to define “Natural Born American” once and for all. That might be the most interesting outcome..

It is quite easy when you handover a story of corruption to them. You can harldy play the role of hypocrite by defending Democrat crimes and then engage in the same crimes yourself.

Sen. Ted Cruz can and already should have killed this problem instantly and responsibly by publicly acknowledging his own ineligibility and condemning Obama and the Democrats for their own eligibility crimes. AS it is now, Sen. Cruz is utterly destroying his own credibility by failing to take responsibility for this issue.

And, of course, like good “parental units” we just give-in to our children that whine, “Everyone else does it!”?

Yep, by all means, let's take account:

One of them hates what America is was and everything we say we stand for.

One of them loves America and everything we say we stand for.

Believe it or not, some people don't understand that key difference.......particularly the Washington Compost and the rest of the totalitarian left.

Se. Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen, and he is not eligible for the Office of the President. Claims to the contrary are without merit and an act of corruption. You don’t battle Obama’s corruption by engaging in the same corruption.

“All we want to know about BO is what his grades were and after 5 years, we still don’t know.”

I’ll settle for a copy of Kerry’s 180.

As a Conservative, I try very hard to play by the same rules whether it’s a Democrat or a Republican whose credentials are under review.

I believe Obama was born in Kenya. His mother was a citizen but his father wasn’t. End of story.

I believe Cruz was born in Canada. His mother was a citizen and his father wasn’t. End of story.

If that were all the story, I’d believe both to be citizens, but not natural born citizens.

Now, in Obama’s situation, he attended school in a foreign nation. Word has it he had to renounce his U. S. Citizenship to attend that school. If so, he is the shining star of illegal immigrants.

We all let the Democrats get away with it - for what will amount to 8 extremely harmful years that will impact generations. We've been acting like puppets, not parents.

Does that justify letting Cruz run? I'm admittedly torn... but I am sick of getting railroaded by the other side and the media.

Criminal? That's your understanding, and frankly it's a bit pathetic. You really want to try to help the totalitarian libs take out one of our best candidates?

Go right ahead, but don't ask the rest of us to follow.

Bottom line, Shark:

If Cruz runs for POTUS in the Republican party, he will utterly destroy both that Party and the conservatives that continue to cling to it.

The Dhimmicrats have no shame or remose in appearing hypocritical, history begins when they say it begins; they will place any error of vetting Obamugabe on the Republicans, the media will echo it.

Vader: Search your feelings; you know it to be true.

“I wish Ted had been born on US soil..”

His birth in the jurisdiction of the United States would not have made him a natural born citizen of the United States, because his father was a citizen of Cuba until 2005. His mother’s U.S. citizenship may have been sufficient to qualify him to become a U.S. citizen using the statutory law of the immigration and naturalization act/s, but citizenship gained by such means is the antithesis of natural born citizenship requiring no such staturoty laws. Pure and simple, it is impossible for Sen. Ted Cruz to be a natural born citizen, because the facts of his birth disqualify him.

:: We all let the Democrats get away with it - for what will amount to 8 extremely harmful years that will impact generations. We’ve been acting like puppets, not parents. ::

Which allows the Dhimmicrats to “jiu-jitsu” the issue back on us. Like all ^intelligent pre-adolescents^, they will turn it back on the conservatives and make us (aligned or not with the Pubbies) look like weak, quivering fools.

Look back at your teen years...Was there no personal satisfaction better than making Mom and Dad look stupid?

Eh, forget it. It gives these guys chum to chew.

If it’s not this it’ll be something else. And they WILL lie. Depend on it .

When, in the process, they find nothing more on Cruz their paradigm will shift

I don’t bet on them. I doubt they’ll come out ahead. But they’ll be mad and they’ll fight as dirty as they can-no limits

One advantage in their trying to take Cruz out early is that if he weathers this he will have inoculated himself by the time the election rolls around.

What do you think really bothers them about him? I think it’s that he’s a religious conservative.
