What a joke. I wonder how many people are going to die because of what he did. This country is a disgrace. He’ll be out in ten.

No he won’t. Federal charges have no early release or parole. 35 years means 35 years. This means that he will be released from prison when he’s 62 years old, outside of a presidential pardon.

The only question that remains, and has for a long time, is whether he will spend his time at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, KS; or the United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX), in Florence, Colorado.

Of the two, he had better pray to whatever gods he worships that it is Fort Leavenworth, because there is at least the possibility that he could survive there.

Were this simply a military offense, it would guarantee the former. But Manning managed to offend a dozen government agencies, who may not be happy about the Pentagon claiming unique punitive jurisdiction. They will want bitter revenge, and so they will lobby for ADX.

I don’t think there’s parole in federal cases.

Joke is right. No consequences for breaking certain laws, including immigration. You can bet this sentence came from the white house as does the whole “You can just just ignore laws that “the one” doesn’t like.”

The military doesn’t do time for good behavior. 35 years is 35 years.

They said on the news today that with time off for good behavior he could be out in less than eight years.

He’ll be out in ten.

He's not been very shy about declaring his orientation and demanding sexual reassignment hormone therapy and surgery. The army won't do that so he's gonna be in for a lot of rough trade at the hands of the brutes in his cellblock. He'll die of AIDS in prison.
