Arthur was born in Vermont.

Census records seem to prove this and fwiw. His father,William Arthur was born in British Northern Ireland. He was an immigrant to Canada. He settled in Dunham, Quebec which is near to Fairfield, Vermont. He married a Fairfield lady and the census tells us much.

The daughter was born in Canada and the baptismal register for her proves that. The census dutifully records her birth in Canada. Chester Arthur is twice recorded on two successive census as being born in Fairfield, Vermont. A certificate of citizenship shows William sworn as such in 1843, when Chester is 14 years old.

Even then when Arthur took the place of the murdered president, there was a flurry of questions regarding eligibility. A lawyer called Hinman (Democrat)wrote a book titled "A British Subject is in the White House".

The Republican Party turned down the offer to stand for president by Chester Arthur. Some say it was because of the eligibility clause. Almost unheard of to refuse an standing president. Their chosen man lost to the Democrats.

Bit of a ramble and please excuse me for it.

“That should frighten you, if you really believe a President has that power at his sole discretion.”

Jimmy Carter was a horrible president.

Not as horrible as he could have been, by your estimation. He could have given away the United States piecemeal all by himself, if he actually did possess the power you ascribe to that Office.

So could Barack Obama.

...must win security clearance from Canada's spy agency, fill out a four-page form and then wait up to eight months to sever his ties to America's northern neighbor.

Canada's or any countries rules other than the US's are irrelevant. Canada could have a rule that says that people can't renounce their citizenship. Doesn't make it relevant.

Your post #36.

Five examples which you have given could be described as "multiculture". This is often not an integration into the dominant culture, but standing apart and trying to alter it. Much of my own native country, England has been destroyed and changed by it. English people live in fear of the politically correct police. Canada has seen some major changes in some large cities. Almost like a third world enclave in some sections. Only it's vast space seems to lull Canadians into a false sense of security.

Multiculture -the disintegration of nations. The Framers of the Constitution must be turning in their graves.

Can people not see? Just damn!

She would have been a subject of the King, not the Queen. Liz didn’t become Queen until 1952, after her father died.

Still not seeing your point here. Are you basing your argument on the fact that Carter wasn’t a piece of crap?

I think you answered your own question!
If Ted was born on US soil, to two US Citizen parents, Ted would be a Natural Born Citizen.

Canada would not have a claim of Citizenship
Cuba could not argue Cuba Citizenship, as the Father was a Cuban.

No need for made made US law to create “Citizenship” for Ted, as Ted has but one Citizenship option-United States of America Citizenship

My “point” is that the Panama Canal Zone was never under the full jurisdiction of the United States.

Peter: “Multiculture -the disintegration of nations. The Framers of the Constitution must be turning in their graves.”

Considering that the country was already multicultural at that time, I doubt at all that the Framers would be too worried about it. Also, at that time, the country was encouraging different cultures to move here and settle so they could fill real needs in the country. For example, the country had almost NO NAVY after the Revolutionary War and needed shipbuilders, Captains, experienced naval personnel, etc. Your complaint is in your own imagination.

I thank you for your remarks and indeed your point is well taken. What I had meant was that the state of affairs since about 1968 in America. In a latter application of the immortal words on the Statue of Liberty, it appears to be "come one, come all". When John Masters, an English author applied for entry in the 1950's, the American authorities noticed he was born in British India. The yearly quota of persons from that country was 64 per year. I am not saying that was right however. Masters had to do a lot of explaining to get entry.

Today, the influx of Muslims, Somalis, and indeed Hispanics, may well change some of Rockwell's idealist portrait of America for ever. That America still exists in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, opposite where I live. Again there seem to be forces at work to tell some Americans what THEY should do to accommodate newcomers and THEIR particular requirements.

That about explains my stand on the subject.

Even hussein agreed in Senate Resolution 511 that a NBC is one having TWO US CITIZEN PARENTS and BORN ON US SOIL.

Resolution 511 does not say that NBC requires those conditions.
