Charts: The Economic Gap Between Blacks and Whites Hasn’t Budged For 50 Years
Roll Call ^ | August 20, 2013 | Taegan Goddard

As the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech approaches,Brad Plumer points out that the ratio of black to white unemployment rate has hardly budged.

Washington Post:

”Many of the most overt forms of racial discrimination and bias have faded, but yawning economic gaps have persisted since 1963, and there has been essentially no narrowing of the unemployment gap between blacks and whites. The
financial crisis and recession scarred minorities more than any one else.”

If only weez had a blakk prezdent (ebonically speaking).

The so-called "War on Poverty" initiated by President Johnson lasting throughout the 60's, 70's has cost a reportedly $1 Trillion with less than nothing to show for it.

Maybe Al Sharpton can help elucidate this jarring phenomena especially when most overt forms of racial discrimination and bias have faded.

And the conclusion is?....(Covert forms of racial discrimination.)

It’s because most “blacks” don’t care. You can look at their culture and see, you can look at any other country in the ENTIRE world, the HISTORY of the world that has been majority black, there hasn’t been ONE noteworthy country EVER that has been run or populated by blacks.

I can understand the black employment problems in the 50s.

As for the present, the comment above nails it.

Washington Post:For Obama, 50 years after historic march, economic equality the path to racial justice

The link "Washington Post" posted above should have directed you to "For Obama, 50 Years After Historic March, Economic Equality The Path to Racial Justice" works at the linked to article at 'Roll Call' but comes up as "not found" in my first attempt to link to the page. This is my second attempt to link to the article "For Obama, 50 Years After Historic March, Economic Equality The Path to Racial Justice" that otherwise can be found at the 'Roll Call' article.

LBJ’s disastrous “Great Society” programs ensured that there would be an explosion of multi-generational dependence on taxpayer support

LBJ’s disastrous “Great Society” programs ensured that there would be an explosion of multi-generational dependence on taxpayer support

The most insidious part is that the Welfare State has dragged many whites down into it too. That then that was the goal: once a client, always a client & Democratic voter.

That was the goal.

I won’t quote LBJ here, but LBJ knew that his programs would keep American blacks on the Democratic voting rolls for “100 years.”

In hindsight, I think he was unaware that even the US could run out of money. We have only about another 5 to 8 years left at the rate we’re going.

The Fed’s just-released balance sheet shows the Fed holding over $2 trillion (tell Carl Sagan to sit down, I said “T” trillion) in US treasury debt on the balance sheet. Effectively, the Fed has bought up two years’ worth of Obama deficits out of four years of trillion-per-year deficits.

This level of thimblerigging is unheard of in human history.

In 1963 I was a student across the river and 6 miles from the Lincoln Memorial. At that time I was well aware that the black community was full of vibrant mom & pop businesses of all types and descriptions mostly self-employment types (If your self-employed you don’t count in the governments employment counts so if you go out of business you aren’t counted as unemployed and can’t get any benefits). The black kids I went to school with all had strong family structures. If they got into some kind of mischief their dads busted their butts just like my dad did me. After LBJ’s poverty programs went into effect that all went away during about a 3 to 5 year period. When I can home from college in early 70’s I was astounded at what had become of the black community that I grew up with. Maybe Cruz has a point about people become addicted to government programs.

At 1 trillion a year, we’ve got until 2020. Just after all the boomers conveniently retire.

Enjoyed your reference to Carl Sagan R.I.P. and the addition of thimblerigging as a must-have, indispensable word to my vocabulary.

Expect a big push for reparations after the 2014 elections. Obama will then be free to demand a huge transfer of wealth from whites to blacks in the name of equality. He’ll have the press and the ethnic communities behind him.

That is what a “victim” mentality will get you. Dems have done a great job keeping the blacks on their plantation despite all our money they have spent.

That’s interesting — despite race-norming in the academic setting, preferential college admissions, hiring quotas, and five decades of massive redistribution programs, the gap hasn’t closed.

Why, it’s almost as if all those programs were not about closing the gap!

It’s almost as if the war on poverty was just a Democrat scam to foster dependency and shift blame!

It’s almost as if “public housing” like Chicago’s Cabrini-Green was actually about “warehousing”!

Thanks lbryce.

The “Bell Curve” is a book published in the 80’s concerning a study on IQ by race. A Bell Curve is a statistical means of establishing mean & average of the group, where 675 of the group fall within plus or minus 10% of the mean. ie. Caucasians average IQ is 100, and 50% are above 100 and 50% are below. Mean IQ of blacks is around 90, Asians about 104.

Maybe some lone white person wandered by Africa a few thousand years ago and waved from his ship.. Blacks were so stung by racism from his 5 minute visit they were never able to create beautiful countries, cities or hamlets since that time. See, it’s all the fault of white people.
