Amid escalating violence against Egypt’s Copts, churches in Minya, located in upper Egypt, cancelled Sunday Mass for the first time in 1,600 years. Other churches in Minya also didn’t hold prayer services.

"We did not hold prayers in the monastery on Sunday for the first time in 1,600 years,” Priest Selwanes Lotfy of the Virgin Mary and Priest Ibram Monastery in Degla, just south of Minya, told the al-Masry al-Youm daily.

He said supporters of ousted president Mohammed Morsi destroyed the monastery, which includes three churches, one of which is an archaeological site. “One of the extremists wrote on the monastery’s wall, ‘donate [this] to the martyrs’ mosque,’” Lotfy added.

I shall pray for the congregation. I have a close friend here that grew up in Egypt and who is a coptic Christian. I have been well aware for sometime how serious this has been. Part of me is glad it is coming to a head. The world needs to see and hear all that is happening to the Christians in Egypt. Many prayers up for the Christians in Egypt and worldwide.

Well, that’s that. They had a good run while they lasted. Sad nobody supported them.

The article doesn’t back up the claim of the headline. I was expecting to see something like “the last missed Mass was on June 23, 413,” or something. It would have been interesting to see some information about their record-keeping that lets them make this claim.

Hmmmmmmm. No Jews around to kill, let’s go find the Christians! Hmmmmm, not many of them around, let’s go kill a Sunni (if you’re a Shiite) or a Shiite (if your’e a Sunni). Gotta kill or burn something!

We in the Christian Communities of America need to pray for our brothers in Christ. We should be sending money—donations to the Coptic Orthodox Church—BLESS program to help them pay to rebuild and bury their dead. The fanatics are burning all Christian Churches including Roman Catholic, and Prostestant.
The mask of Satan his gone from the face of these terrible men. Pray that the Brotherhood is banned and peace restored to this ancient land.

Don’t forget that the nearest bunch of Jews are all armed to the teeth. Much easier to kill unarmed Christians.

The nearest bunch of Jews enjoyed 30 years of calm on the Sinai border under Sadat and Mubarak. All that's gone now and it's a good thing those Jews built a serious fence all along the Egyptian border, just in time.

The last time a commandeered (by Jihadists) armored vehicle broke through the barrier, an Israeli Apache tracked it for a mile and then let lose with a very destructive munition.
The Muslim/Arabs always learn the hard way.
