This has been such an ugly scene I’ve been hiding my face from it most of the time. I’d sooner watch a freight train smack into an Amtrak. Mubarek? Not the Hosni who had been their president for many years?

The Egyptian generals know full-well that if Morsi or the MB were to come back to power, they (the generals) would be executed.

Hence, expect Morsi to remain behind bars at best and his power structure and the MB itself inside of Egypt (and perhaps even elsewhere) to be dismantled and eliminated.

A few weeks before the military takeover (”coup” if you prefer), there was a photo essay on Egypt posted on FR from a publication whose name I do not recall. The essay showed the numerous ways in which the Morsi/IB government was running Egypt into the ground, and thus made the coup very easy for me to comprehend. Obama and his suck-up McCain are dead wrong on this issue.
