Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) made a list of reasons to not stop Obamacare. He checked the list twice, found out who was naughty and nice and then took a photo of himself with the list and tweeted it out to his followers. I’d say that Congressman Issa hit a homerun with this one. Well done!

Good one Congressman Issa! Now I want to see a similar list of Reasons not to call for a Special Counsel over the IRS Scandal.

I want to see a similar list of Reasons not to call for a Special Counsel over the Benghazi Scandal, Fast and Furious Scandal, Birth Certificate counterfeiting scandal, (and the list goes on...)

He’s only one Congressman, what do you expect him to do?

Wonder how far you’d get with a Cummings strapped to your butt! At least he’s trying to get the info out.

Oh he is?

Care to tell me what action you have seen on Holder’s refusal to privide docs?

How about Hillary/Bhenghazi?

You mean to say that he can’t go to a federal judge each and every time he has a legal subpena thrown back in his face?

What happened to conservatives? Some one tell me. All I see is excuses and complacency. We are YEARS into FF. We are over a YEAR from Bhenghazi. We ar MONTHS since Holder’s contempt.

As to the “You do better” line, How about holding our elected republicans ‘feet to the fire” like so many claimed about Romeny and tell THEM to do better?

How about that? What a novel concept! Instead of excusing YEARS of do nothing but fog and pony shows, how about saying as a group, “Get off youe asses and PRODUCE, Mr Issa!”

How about that?

Or are you willing to watch him nearly let another Lois Lerner Slide? When are conservatives going to stop cowering and ‘hoping’ something happens?

If Congressman Issa isn't going to say it then I will. The reason that we do not want to stop Obamacare is the following. Patriots have repeatedly proven themselves to be "fire fighters" instead of "fire preventors" where the unchecked growth of unconstitutonally big federal government is concerned.

So getting kicked in the teeth with higher healthcare taxes before the 2014 elections is undoubtedly what it will take to get patriots and former Obama supporters off of their couches and into the voting booths to give Obama a conservative-controlled Congress in 2014.

But wait! There's more!

Note that if enough patriots get off of their couches and elect 2/3 majority conservative control in both Houses of Congress in 2014 then the repeal of Obamacare by Congress will be within shooting distance. This is because a supermajority-controlled conservative Congress will have the constitutional authority, under the Constituton's Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to repeal Obamacare without Obama's signature.

Ok, but what specific part of his job is he not following through on that has you so upset? I might be able to get on board with the outrage, but I need to know what we are supposed to be upset about :)

Are you serious? Really? you arent upset that he just runs ‘investigations’ that go nowhere? Ever?

To answer specifically, The part of his job that deals in protecting and defending the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Heavy on the ‘domestic’.

His powers to FOLLOW THROUGH on subpenas and hold people legally accountable for their refusals to comply for starters. To get answers UNDER OATH.

I can’t believe I am even having this conversation. I really can’t.

I’d happily trade all of this ineffectual poseur’s stunts for a mere handful of REAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

Hey, I’m just asking a question. Don’t jump on me for not knowing why you personally are throwing a fit about someone.

As for why I’m not upset... well I don’t expect much out of congressmen, so I am rarely disappointed. Even if he got people under oath, and tried to hold people in contempt of congress, he doesn’t have any power to enforce any of that. If he did that, it would go nowhere with Holder’s Justice Department, so he’d just be grandstanding for conservative votes anyway.

The fact that everyone isn’t throwing a fit speaks volumes.

His powers grand him the ability to do more than sit there in impotence. As a congressman he has pretty immediate access to fed courts. And he never uses it.

But you seem OK with that. your call.

“His powers grand him the ability to do more than sit there in impotence. As a congressman he has pretty immediate access to fed courts.”

What power exactly do you think one congressman, alone, has over the Federal courts? Sure, he can issue a subpoena, but beyond that, he has no power in and of himself.

He has no power over them. He has immediate access to them to file suits and ask for relief/injunctions et all to stop the illegal maneuvering, ignoring of federal laws etc that the admin regularly takes part in.

Do you not think he should be using every power, perk and ability he has? And every time?

“Do you not think he should be using every power, perk and ability he has? And every time?”

Like I said before, I do not expect much from congressmen, so I am rarely disappointed. You can talk all the “shoulds” you want, but I have learned to keep my expectations of politicians very low, because they will never do what you or I think they “should” do. The best we can hope is that they don’t do what they should not do.

And as long as we keep our expectations low we should not complain when they meet them.

Well, the alternative is to have high expectations and be continually disappointed. So, it’s more a pragmatic choice for my own mental health than anything else.

They are politicians, not saints or heroes. I hold them one step above lawyers in terms of my expectations.
