Forever 21...but only working 29.5 hours weekly

While liberals were busy bemoaning the low wages of the minimally skilled hamburger flippers and other fast food employees, while Congress and the unions were busy exempting themselves from the Obamacare they pushed for,, another group of workers was falling victim to the Unaffordable Health Care Act.

Shop girls. Sales clerks.

Forever 21, the privately held fast fashion retailer teen aged girls just lo-o-ove, recently informed many full time employees that beginning Sunday, August 18 they were suddenly part time employees; their maximum working hours dropping to 29.5 hours a week.

Obamacare's mandatory employer provided health insurance kicks in for employees who work a minimum of...30 hours.

How convenient for the company which naturally denies Obamacare inspired the decision; instead because:

"Company-wide, Forever 21 recently audited its staffing levels, staffing needs and payroll in conjunction with reviewing its overall operating budget. As a result, we are reducing a number of full-time non-management positions.

Based on our audit, your position will be reclassified as Part-Time.."

Medical coverage of all types will end as will paid time off.

This problem can be easily fixed. All Soetoro has to do is pound his scepter on the floor and declare that henceforth 29.5 hours shall be deemed full-time.

And then 28.5 and then 27.5 and so on and so on and so on....

You still have to add up all of the weekly hours of your employees and divide by 40 to determine the number of “full time” employees.

You still have to add up all of the weekly hours of your employees and divide by 40 to determine the number of “full time” employees.

What we need is bottom up “worker revolt” against the state where Citizens intentionally work “illegally” by working as “contractors” to bypass the damned thing and work for 40 hours and get paid a little more than regular workers but they have to buy their own benefits which would actually cost less than part time obama workers.

This seems like a way for the government to show how “more jobs” were created, because now you have someone to work 29.5 hours and someone else to work 10.5 and voila! more jobs were created,

Those Greedy companies are taking advantage of O-care to further line their pockets at their employees expense. Just More proof we need single payer HC and a higher corporate tax to pay for it. Vote for economic justice. Do it for Trayvon and John Lewis.’

Many School Corporations have cut teachers aids to under 30 hours. This movement is just beginning IMO. Unless this changes, the new standard work week is going to be less than 30 hours and no benefits.

Where they distribute Communist Chinese products marked up 200 percent.

Employers with more than X number of employees working more than 30 hours per week will have to funnel cash into Obozoliar’s pseudo health plan.

This has been happening out here in Californicator land since the first of the year.

We live in a seasonal area of higher travel and visitors June through early November, and many employers are concerned if they normally have less than 50 employees and go over he 50 number during their high season. They will be permanently categorized as over 50 employees.

We’ve become a country of service workers.

We’ve become a country of retail, fast food, warehousing and service industry workers....All others have seen their wages stagnant for 15 years now.

Not enough? Tens of millions have had their hours cut/slashed and medical benefit made pointless or eliminated all together.

Only a matter of time until things like housing, with it’s bloated good time prices, melts completely down

They probably all voted for Obumster because they got free birth control pills, easy access to the morning after pill, and guaranteed abortions. Of course, they are paying for it now because they just lost 11 hours a week, or 44 hours a month in wages. SUCKERS!

Like I posted earlier:

I was sent this by a lefty friend over the weekend and found a story on AOL about it.

Turns out that Forever 21 says this will affect 1% of their employees. They employ 30,000 people in 500 stores. 1% is 300 people. I’m sure that many quit everyday.

I would guess that rather than all employees going to part time, as this story suggests, the truth is that one or several stores have too much staff for the amount of work so a few people were cut back.

So one of the few that were “cut,” “leaked” this to cause trouble for the company. He succeeded.

No big deal either way.
