(Reuters) - The controversy over Russia's law banning the promotion of homosexuality is an "invented problem" focused on by Western media, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Sunday.

The law, which parliament passed in June, bans "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations" and imposes fines on those holding gay pride rallies.

It has attracted international condemnation and cast a shadow over the athletics world championships in Moscow, with questions raised over whether it will apply to athletes and spectators at next year's Winter Olympics in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.

The International Olympic Committee is seeking clarification from Russia while there have already been some calls for a boycott of the Games.

Mutko told reporters before the start of the track and field championships that critics should "calm down", saying the rights of all athletes competing in Sochi will be respected.

On Sunday, at a news conference before the start of the final day of the August 10-18 championships, he blamed continuing debate on "an invented problem" in Western media.

AFAIK, Russian police are not breaking down doors....they are merely enforcing what an overwhelming majority of the nation believes: exposure of the deviant lifestyle is NOT exposed to children....so NO PUBLIC CELEBRATION of sodomy.

Perhaps lawmakers there saw how that practice has weakened America.

Imagine if they held the Olympics in a Muzzie country... would the gay athletes be beheaded?

I think one reason Putin started to push tis is because Obama started to push for “world wide gay rights”, which goes against many other countries’ laws and customs.

So Putin set up a huge target for Obama to joust against.

Obama stepped in it by canceling the summit, let’s see what he does next.

Gay parades are a fraud sex cult.

Ah, for the days the only worry was the red army parade.

The “now at all costs democracy” vs. The needs of future generations and valid opposition candidates hang in the balance.

Homosexuals and abortions support established tyrannies

And no Obama, you don’t cancel meetings, the meeters cancel you

Perhaps lawmakers there saw how that practice has weakened America.

And other civilizations, throughout history!

But even as the word "gay" is being misapplied as a description for an asexual substitution for normal sexuality; the description of the law as "anti" those caught up in in certain practices is a mischaracture. Laws to protect children from exposure to even perfectly normal adult behavior are not described as "anti" that adult behavior. I would suggest that the words chosen, here, themselves say much about the agitation that has already gone so far in America. People who have been induced to support any agenda need to preserve their abilities to reexamine what has been sold to them.

Think about it, and draw the logical conclusions.

It is kind of funny that the Russians are being made the target of Cultural Marxism.

He should be happy the media are talking about this because it keeps them from asking other questions. Like why the hell are they having the Winter Olympics in a place without winter?

It would be a good idea to do a little research about Sochi before making the comment. Look up “Krasnaya Polyana.” Sochi and Adler may have palm trees, but Krasnaya Polyana is definitely alpine. :)

UN declares Russia anti-gay, US accepts them as refugees.

Problem solved. All gays in Russian come to US with welfare benefits.
