EU warns will 'urgently review' Egypt ties

European Union leaders Herman Van Rompuy and Jose Manuel Barroso warned Egypt's army and interim government Sunday the bloc would review its ties with the country unless the violence ended.

Further escalation could have "unpredictable consequences" for Egypt and its neighbours, the presidents of the European Council and European Commission said.

"This path will not succeed. It is crucial that violence ends immediately," they said.

The 28-nation bloc would continue efforts to promote an end to violence, resumption of political dialogue, and return to a democratic process, the statement added.

"To this effect, together with its member states, the EU will urgently review in the coming days its relations with Egypt and adopt measures aimed at pursuing these goals."

At this point, I’ve reached the sorry conclusion that Europe might be better off under Putin. At least the LBGT mafia won’t be in control.

Because they’ve always been top of the heap at the boarding schools, universities, law firms, bureaucracies, etc. They can’t imagine a situation where they aren’t in control.

My guess is that a lot of then never got punched in the nose or even spanked.

Why does the Left support the Islamists? At first glance, it does seem strange. However, when you peel back the onion, the Left has always been after one thing: absolute power. It was true (and obvious) in Stalin's time and it is true now. The best way to successfully wield absolute power is to totally subvert the individual to the State. To do that, one must tear down the attitudes, values, and traditions that the majority holds dear and replace them with a new, different set. This is a variant on the technique used in military basic training. That is part of the reason why the Left supports things like rampant immigration, Gay marriage, and radical feminism while eschewing traditional Western religions. Radical Islam fits the bill in two respects. First, like the Left, it seeks the overthrow of Judeo/Christian culture. Second, and more importantly, Islamic clerics have close to absolute power over their adherents. If the Mullahs can motivate someone to be a suicide bomber, convincing them to pay higher taxes should be a piece of cake. Many in the Left must salivate at the thought of having that much control over the individual. At some point, the Left will have to choose between radical Islam and the continued embrace of its traditional interest groups (gays, feminists, etc). I predict they will chose the former, because ultimately the Islamists will be more numerous (in 30-50 years or so).

Quite a cogent statement with which I agree completely. You are one smart guy rbg81.

Yup. When you have been told you are special (and it’s gone on far longer than it has been in the mainstream) thats the end result.

Today, That boarding school elite (Kim in Korea anyone?) are in power and near power. And they have armies of college indoctrinated idiots to back them up. Like the lib reporter I mentioned on another thread who argued that 1 and one dont have to equal two. today he is an aide for a state senator in Pennsylvania. He is a Jew that thinks Israel is evil. He is a feminist that regularly screamed at female co workers.

He and those like him run the show. And that level of stupid will burn itself to the ground. Because it cannot take ‘no’ much less violent opposition.

Thanks, but quite honestly I did not write that today. I honed that paragraph over time in response to similar posts such as this. It was a mental exercise to try to explain the unholy association between the Left and Islam. I have a few other rants that I’ve honed as well—its useful to cut/paste them vs. having to regurgitate the logic from scratch.

It’s become quite apparent yet most still don’t see the alliance between the Marxists, and the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s there. It’s undeniable. Marxists, Socialists, support the Muslim Brotherhood. The anti Socialist, anti Muslimists do not support the brotherhood.

The Egyptian people deserve the government they want, NOT the government Obama, and his ilk forced upon them in a coup that the Egyptian people NOW want dissolved by their military. Our support belongs in favor of the people of Egypt, NOT in support of the evil that is the Muslim Brotherhood.

Obama is greatly responsible for the mess in Egypt today.

The EU is mad that Al Zawahiri’s brother got caught infiltrating Egypt.

The Muslim Brotherhood flies the Al Qaeda black flag, and the EU wanted Al Qaeda to rule Egypt.

That’s why they gave 0bama his Nobel Peace Prize for his 2009 speech in Cairo.

The EU supports Al Qaeda.

Should have said this earlier.

If toy want to partake in some less than light reading, Getith thee to Amazon/Kindle or whatever and buy the book “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene.

I cannot possibly express how this book will change your perspective on how and most importantly WHY power is used. It totally changed my outlook and how I view the political world, here and globally.

I recommend every Freeper get it and read it cover to cover at least once. I have bought 3 copies to date. I loan them out and never get them back. It is that good.

Nonetheless, it is an impressive piece of argument. By the way, as you are probably aware, David Horowitz wrote a book "Unholy Alliance" about this very topic in 2006. In it he researches the evolution of Left's romance with radical Islam.

I meant to give the link to the book in my previous reply. I wish FR had an “edit” function. http://www.amazon.com/Unholy-Alliance-Radical-Islam-American/dp/0895260263/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376856421&sr=8-1&keywords=horowitz+unholy
