The Republican National Committee (RNC) voted unanimously Friday to pull the groups partnership with NBC and CNN for the 2016 GOP presidential primary debates unless the networks kill their planned films on Hillary Clinton.
We don't have time for the media's games, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said before the vote at the RNC summer meeting in Boston. Were done putting up with this nonsense. There are plenty of other news outlets.
...
This week, the Washington Examiner reported that the RNC is considering some high-profile conservative media personalities, like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, as potential debate moderators.
I actually think thats a very good idea, Priebus said.

Probably ... Makes me think .... and for me that is scary.
TEA allowed the GOP in the door, now they are in many places exactly what you describe. Thats why we have to vote ppn principle and for principled people...not let ANYONE or group pick out candidates or force our votes. As long as people follow these groups who have the GOP’s interests at heart, not Americas, we lose. And TEA groups ran by longtime GOP ‘leaders’ are most definitely NOT on our side.
Look for ABC or CBS to do a similar free commercial for Hillary and dare RNC to ban them as well. Then, the RNC will have a reason to capitulate by arguing that they can’t ban all media.
They think that of course but on the way to a coronation an election just might break out.
You’re right. It’s a smart move and a good start...
When I look at my local “tea party” group I see a “businessman” whose business is financed largely by taxpayer dollars through contracts with local governments and a longtime Republican party activist sitting at the leadership table trying to manage others at that table who are real conservatives.
Oops ... me right? Woe ... I might ought to have I speak up instead of me.
EgggZactly.
Infiltrated.
please excuse me this morning ... me is far from serious. I is the serious one.
It will be interesting to see how Rush, hannity and other conservatives do with the debates. I think our candidates better be on their toe because they will not ask soft ball questions that the liberals ask.
Kind of sad but as long as groups like the CFR and Trilateral Commission controls the purse strings and the leadership, all of this is a mere show ! And President Bush - Senior was so bad. At least his son was better like getting rid of the national speed limit of 55/65 mph.
makes one think fact is stranger than fiction or illusion. As for the illusion .... fact is illusion in writing the script.
Heck no I’ll stand outside at the fence .... do not, please do not send me to centerfield. Hate those http 500s.
My understand is that the RNC now has leverage that will allow them to stick to their guns, e.g. in the past, if enough candidates elected to participate in a debate, that debate would go forward regardless of the RNC's position on the venue - now, if the RNC doesn't approve the venue there will be a significant fine charged to those candidates that elect to appear. Money talks.
Who suddenly grew a spine?
Yeah. Neither do I.
If they won't stand up to him when it comes to law breaking at The NSA, The IRS and SoetoroCare....
Ooh! Is he allowed to say that? ;-)
Exactly.
They're not serious because no leaders from Tea Party groups were invited to the gathering. That tells me all I need to know.
