Ted Cruz blames Egyptian violence on Obama’s disregard for foreign aid law
washingtonexaminer.com ^ | AUGUST 16, 2013 | JOEL GEHRKE

President Obama has “contributed to [Egypt's] descent into chaos” by providing foreign aid to the military regime while maintaining an otherwise “detached and abstract” position, according to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who called for an end to financial support.

“President Obama’s detached and abstract statement yesterday on deteriorating conditions in Egypt is only the most recent manifestation of this administration’s failed policy in that country,” Cruz said.

“As there can no longer be any reasonable doubt that what occurred in July was a military coup, the first step is to send an unequivocal message that the United States is a nation of laws and suspend aid to Egypt,” he said.

Go get ‘I’m, Ted.

It’s time to start fighting The Great Usurper and his minions tooth and nail on everything.

We’re going to be labelled obstructionists no matter what, so might as well pull out every trick to derail Bozo’s headlong rush to a total dictatorship.

In my opinion, Obama has us on the wrong side in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood is not our friend at all. The Egyptian military want a non-sharia government. They are right.

If we will not back the military they will look to Russia to support them and return to a Russian client state in the Middle East.

Now Cruz is, by default, defending the Muslime Brotherhood and I’ll now say with absolute confidence that there’s NO WAY I’ll vote for him.

Next?

From what I've heard,Ted Cruz is OK in my book but I suspect that he's wrong here.Long story short...the Egyptian Army is the lesser of two evils,by far.The moslem radicals were in the process of taking the country back to the Stone Age,which would seriously jeopardize the entire region...and the entire world. And the violence in the streets is part of their plan.

“Obama has us on the wrong side in Egypt.”

Why take sides in Egypt? Obama is actually funding the military because they are the official government now.

I just think it’s interesting that there were many Cruz supporters bashing Rand Paul yesterday for also calling for an end to foreign aid to Egypt.

Cruz and Rand have the same worldview and the same philosophy but some of his supporters are under the illusion that they are different.

Nope. Read it again. Cruz wants aid suspended to the Egyptian military that’s currently fighting the islamist Muslim Brotherhood.

That’s going to HELP the islamic fundamentalists, not hurt them!

Sorry to say, but Obama is right on this one even if he doesn’t want to be. The only hope Egypt has at being truly free is if the military succeeds in putting down the islamists.

And Cruz is aiding and abetting the islamists with his words.

Of course he’s on the wrong side. A totalitarian sides with the totalitarians. He’s on the wrong side of our constitution also.

Send the Egyptian military a copy of the constitution and the declaration. We’re not using it. As for Russia...they’re no match for the greatest anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collective in the history of civilization.

Ted Cruz is a big mouth dope here...we should be backing the Egyptian military. The Muzzy brotherhood does not want us backing Egypt’s military. This situation is easy to figure out.

The Christians in Egypt want us to support the military. The Muzzlim brotherhood burned 20 churches yesterday

Cruz is right about ohaha, but he is wrong about the Egyptian military. morsi’s boys are busy burning down Christian churches and businesses and homes as we speak.
Many of the so-called ‘massacred’ civilians were mb supporters killed by mb to produce bodies for propaganda and the live thread has pics that prove it. They set the fire at the mosque to burn the bodies so there would be no forensic evidence of how they were killed. Others they killed were found piled and hidden in various places waiting for the moment to show them to reporters.

I think you are correct, however, Senator Cruz needs to be very careful here. There is plenty of doubt that this is a Military coup.

I like Ted a whole big bunch, but he needs to prove that he is an independent thinker here. Right now.

WHY does he think that this is a Military coup? Why does he insult conservatives?

I hope he will make himself very, very clear- SOON!

Cruz is not defending the Muslim Brotherhood, he is defending the rule of law in our country. I suggest you and others should do the same, and not try to determine who is in power in what countries.

American law says not military support for military regimes that come to power by coup d’état. If you don’t like that law, change it. But it is the law and Cruz is right.

The GOP should be concentrating their fire on the person who helped turn out Mubarak and bring the Muslim Brotherhood to power - Hillary Clinton. Tie the brotherhood around her neck. Forger Obama, can’t do anything about him, but the trouble in Egypt started on her watch and she supported the Muslim Brotherhood.

“Cruz and Rand have the same worldview and the same philosophy but some of his supporters are under the illusion that they are different.”

imho, they are both wrong on this issue.

(I prefer Cruz over Rand but they are both great enemies of Obamunism).

Cruz: ““As there can no longer be any reasonable doubt that what occurred in July was a military coup, the first step is to send an unequivocal message that the United States is a nation of laws and suspend aid to Egypt,” he said.

Afaic, the muslim brotherhood stole the election after getting help FROM OBAMA, HILLARY, McCAIN and the SOROS -funded Intl Crises Group(founded by Robert Malley, who was arafat’s godson and Obama’s pre-election emissary TO HAMAS...)

Never forget the MB’s motto:

“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way.

Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. Allahu akbar!”

Itsis in America’s interest that we should hold back the F16’s and the Abrams tanks but pay a BOUNTY to the Egyptian military for every MB they can help die for Allah...

I’m seeing what you’re seeing. Cruz wants the US to stop money going to the Egyptian army who are blowing away the Muslim terrorists.

I think we need more info here to determine if Cruz got bad advice from staff, his position was mis-reported by the press or he’s lost his mind.

What law? The criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington follows no law. If you haven’t figured it out yet, we are at war against the leftists in this country. There is no law in war. You want to follow the law? Go join a chess club. Law is for a peaceful society where everyone agrees to be bound by law. That situation does not exist at the present time.

Ted Cruz was pointing out that the LAW demands that we not give any aid to a country that is under a military coup. He was rubbing Obama's and the other Dims' faces in the blatant lawlessness that they have been committing against the People and the rest of the world. He has been consistent and truer to the Constitution than any I've seen since the Gipper.
