You stated that the possibility of them being killed in the future because of the charges being brought against them was overstated.

I simply pointed out that there is a rational reason for my original assertion.

You want to think it’s crazy, your choice, but it’s reasonable to consider that maybe they will need a gun in the future to save their lives, and they won’t have a gun because of the these unreasonable charges.

I also decided to make it a little more personal, considering you inferred that you had done stupid stuff too, by asking if you would give up your right to own a gun based on those things you had done.

Looks like the answer is a resounding NO!

So why should it be different for these kids, who by all measures are growing up in more personally dangerous times?

The toys we played with were nothing to goof off around. We knew that at the time, and believe it or not, safety was a definite consideration.

I agree with you. I didn’t know details but it sounded like she was being careless. But reports can be sloppy too. God actually thinks it’s fun too when we play in a reasonably safe manner, nothing being absolutely safe this side of glory. We might remember the bad old days when we played without football helmets, for example, but now we use the helmets and won’t go without them. Same as, when I ride a motorcycle, I will generally use a full face helmet (confessing that sometimes I rode for short distances in Illinois with no helmet). If it’s for a good reason, it’s good.
