At least 14 suspected al-Qaida militants in Yemen were killed in three drone attacks presumably conducted by the United States, security officials said.
The attacks occurred Thursday, just one day after Yemeni officials said they stopped a major al-Qaida plot against oil pipelines and ports, the BBC reported Thursday.
A drone attack killed four suspected militants in Wadi al-Jadd in the southern province of Hadramout.
In two other attacks in Marib and Hadramout provinces, 10 suspected militants were killed, security officials said.
The United States has said it is targeting militants in Yemen with drones, but it has not commented publicly on Thursday's attacks, the BBC said.
Some 30 suspected militants have died from drone attacks in Yemen since July 28.
