Let us eliminate nuclear weapons so that evil cannot be defeated as in WWII?

Any comment on the Rape of Nanking? Bataan Death March? Wake Island beheadings? Korean “comfort women”?
Pretty selective remembrances.......Karma?

LET US MODERNIZE AND INCREASE THE ACCURACY AND LETHALITY OF OUR NUCLEAR ARSENAL AND HAVE THE GUTS TO USE IT ON PLACES LIKE IRAN IF THEY MOVE AGAINST US. NO MORE POLICE ACTIONS... NO MORE PARTIALLY FOUGHT WARS... NO MORE NATION BUILDING... JUST KILL THE ENEMY AND BREAK HIS HOME INTO PIECES AND THEN COME HOME.

LLS

We haven’t used a nuke since WW2. Nobody believes we will ever again.
Result: Nukes are not a threat to any third world bunch of nuts and jihadis.

We should have nuked Afghanistan on day one.
The world has a short memory. All controversy and condemnations would have been forgotten a year after.

“pledges to seek to eliminate nuclear weapons”

It’s better to seek to eliminate the agressive expansion of territory.

I think they’ve got that covered now.

Being reminded of this day brings back a favorite memory of my younger son when he was a third-grader. A young Japanese language teacher told his class it was wrong for the US to have used the bomb on Hiroshima.

He raised his hand and told her they shouldn’t have bombed us first.

Like George Zimmerman having to do what he did, I think it’s a damned shame that it had to happen like it did in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. However, it is what it is and the good guys won the war.

I wish the Japanese would commorate the biggest mistake they ever. Made, attacking Pearl Harbor.

If they didn’t do that those Nukes would never have been dropped.

Some peaceniks put on a display about Hiroshima in the lobby of our church for the hushed crowds to murmur over last Sunday after Mass.

My wife came up to me and asked if I would be staying to examine it and I said in a loud voice, "No, I was looking for the Pearl Harbor exhibit. Can't seem to find it anywhere...".

Yep. Hiroshima was sooooooo bad, we had to drop another bomb on Nagasaki before the Japanese surrendered.

After Okinawa, where there were so many artillery shells used that there was not one thing on that island either natural or man made that was over 24 inches high, suicide cliffs where civilians jumped to their deaths by the thousands, mothers in the Japanese Underground Naval Headquarters that gave their babies to soldiers to be bayoneted so their crying would not reveal their hiding places, how many civilian lives were spared by not invading Japan?

American soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen were still dying every day in the Pacific Theater. The Japanese may have been beaten, but they were still fighting. We would have taken one million casualties if we invaded the Japanese homeland. Faced with a decision between one more American life and however many tens-of-thousands or even hundreds-of-thousands of Japenese lives, Truman made the right choice.

nuke ‘em. it’s the “just war theory”.

Right?

Unconditional surrender ... and occupation and overthrow. it’s the American way.

By August 6 1945 the B-29 firebombing had eliminated any target worth a bomb. Hiroshima, Kobe and Nagasaki were saved from the bombing so there would be a city or two to test Fatman and Little Boy on.

The pictures of Tokyo taken March 6 1945 look just like Hiroshima. More people died that night in Tokyo than died at Hiroshima. If we had invaded Japan there would be no Japanese people. We would have had to kill them all. And an estimated one million Americans would have died.

Japan should be about remembering the atrocities it committed that led to the necessity of bringing it's suicidal regime to an end!!!
