The State Department on Tuesday ordered non-essential personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen to leave the country following the threat by al-Qaida that has triggered temporary shutdowns of 19 American diplomatic posts across the Middle East and Africa.
The department said in a travel warning that it had ordered the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Yemen "due to the continued potential for terrorist attacks" and said U.S. citizens in Yemen should leave immediately because of an "extremely high" security threat level.
"As staff levels at the Embassy are restricted, our ability to assist U.S. citizens in an emergency and provide routine consular services remains limited and may be further constrained by the fluid security situation," the travel warning said. The U.S. Embassy is located in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.
A U.S. intelligence official and a Mideast diplomat told The Associated Press that the current shutdown of embassies in the Middle East and Africa was instigated by an intercepted secret message between al-Qaida chief Ayman al-Zawahri and Nasser al-Wahishi, the leader of the Yemen-based al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, about plans for a major terror attack. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Shortly thereafter, a couple dozen CIA agents there suddenly scattered to the four winds like roaches when the kitchen light is turned on - not a one to be found, at least for any Congressional Panel. But somehow now, they act like they’re just doing ‘due-diligence’.

This whole thing smells bad...something is rotten in this barrel if news. Most credible terror threats, USA on the run, but the War on Terror is over, CIA operators being renamed and relocated to not talk about Benghazi, now we find out we have been bombing Yeman for the last 10 days? There is some kind of parallel universe thing going in here. I don’t even recognize my own country anymore.
I’m sure that over at Huff and DU, they’re drawing comparisons to Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” stance.

Our country gets up and goes to work every day or scours America looking for work. The parasites are feeding well and the cancer in DC is thriving. Eradicate that cancer and the parasites will soon quit feeding. Then we will recognize our country again. There will always be those that we must help but half the country on food stamps is directly caused by obama and the dims.
We should close about 99% of our embassies in the Middle East and Africa. All they are is a conduit for moving money from your and my pockets to those of our enemies. Cut the State Department budget accordingly.
