Posted on 08/06/2013 1:26:49 AM PDT by Olog-hai
Nick Cleggs party has unveiled proposals to only allow ultra-low carbon vehicles on UK roads by 2040.
The controversial measures would mean millions of petrol and diesel cars being forbidden. Only electric vehicles and ultra-efficient hybrid cars would be allowed on UK roads under the Lib Dem plans. However, petrol and diesel vehicles would still be allowed for freight purposes.
The Lib Dems also want to introduce a system of road pricing in congested areas.
As part of the partys plans to create a zero-carbon Britain, the Lib Dems could also embrace nuclear power and shale gas exploration.

sounds all warm and fuzzy until that time arrives
Can the econuts now see it’s not about the planet? And they are only useful idiots of the GOV?
People are harder to control when they are independently mobile.
Over 70% of the UK electricity comes from coal and Natural Gas, add Nuclear and it is over 90%.
...and when it does theyll get to keep their gas/diesel cars while everyone one else has to make other arrangements. Its he liberal way, liberal for them not so much for you.
They don’t need to worry, because by 2040 the UK as we know it will have ceased to exist. The new little prince will have to live in exile, or face being killed by the muslim majority population. Stick a fork in Britain, it’s done!
IOW, Nick Cleggs party is taking a dive, and yet drawing off votes from the left, to be brought into the next coalition. Thanks Olog-hai.
