Did anyone ask Carney about CNN’s Benghazi bombshell at today’s press briefing?

There was no briefing on Friday so this was the first chance to press him on CNN’s scoop. Ace says he watched most of it and didn’t hear a peep about it. When he tweeted at Ed Henry of Fox to ask what’s up, Henry tweeted back — well, go look. Consider this a bleg: Did anyone watch, start to finish, and can confirm or deny that it’s true? Even with the big terror alert preoccupying the media, it’s unfathomable that they wouldn’t pick up a story pushed by a major cable news net that kinda sorta hinted the CIA might have been shipping SAMs to Syrian jihadis under the radar and that the CIA is now trying to intimidate would-be leakers into silence. Especially when Carney dismissed this as a phony scandal as recently as last week.

If it is true, does this explain why?

Some CNN reporters are reportedly fearful now that their access to the White House will be hampered following their probing into a story that members of the Obama administration would prefer remain uninvestigated.

“Access is a very serious consideration when it comes to stories that could adversely impact a show, correspondent, or network’s relationship with the administration, a campaign, or any political leader,” one source with insider information told Mediaite.

“I would suggest it’s not an accident that those who have been given a lot of access to the president have generally been AWOL when it comes to stories that might reflect poorly on him,” the source, who did not wish to be identified, continued. “It’s the name of the game. And it’s bad for everyone trying to do this job the right way.”

I tweeted this out before posting in hopes that someone would correct me/Ace.

How many “bombshells” have there been since F&F”,,, a million? The media is still ignoring them and bammer is still laughing. The word ‘bombshell’ is way overused. A bombshell is only effective if it does damage. bammer doesn’t even have a scratch.

As much as I get tired of Glenn Beck sometimes, I have to hand it to him this time because he was on this story about arms shipments as soon as the Bengazi story came to light in the Conservative media circles.

A little off topic...

Does anybody else remember the story that the WH put out about the Libyan security forces rescuing/recovering Ambassador Stevens body and taking him to the hospital? This was put out immediately after the attack and mentioned frequently along with the cause of the attack being the you tube video.

There was never an explanation of the photos showing the terrorists dragging his body through the streets.

Is this something that the Republicans have been looking into? I haven’t heard it mentioned at all.

What is the value of “access” if it means you don’t get to do your job? What perks are they being bribed with that are so valuable?

I have to admit that if any of these so called political ‘leaders’ speak I either change the channel and on the car radio turn the volume down so I have to rely on ‘others’, (RL, here etc) for my political ‘news’.

I seem to recall that HRC had said the Libyans ‘gently carried’ him to the hospital and even thought BO had basically said the same.

Could have been a parody but not many people I ‘listen to’ would have been in a joking mood in the days that followed the event caused by a video....

About that bridge I have for sale in Brooklyn,.......

Access is a two way street! The main media when finding themselves blocked out can simply state...okay be like that but don’t count on us to be there when you need to access us when you want to get you policy points in front of the American people!

This less a bombshell than an IED that has been 'roadside' since Benghazi. (Was reported 'early on'; but 'sat there' waiting to be picked up.)

Meantime; it appears and/or 'so reported'; that Boehner stifling investigation/commentary - per his own approval of these weapon transfers. (And if so/ he did this 'why'?) Time to just 'ask John'.. .but eye must be kept on Beghazi; and the immediate 'players' who made the decision to cover their tracks; from the beginning. Truth/Justice. . .must prevail.

Meantime; it appears Obama now- for all intents/purposes - has his 'own' Washington Newspaper; whose reporters will no doubt; keep this story up front and 'Obama personal'.

And now; back to Fox News. . .

“I would suggest it’s not an accident that those who have been given a lot of access to the president have generally been AWOL when it comes to stories that might reflect poorly on him,”

Wonder if an agency or reporter will ever have the cajones to bring a First Amendment suit against the one for impeding the free press?

Perhaps to get Carney to answer a question, the “question” being asked needs to begin with this, “Without deflecting my question will all your bullsh!t, etc., etc.”

Think he'd give you an answer? Probably not.

The fact that the "media" has put a significant area of inquiry off limits so they won't "lose access" means that they have already lost access.

They are useless.
