Two people were killed and four were wounded in a shooting at a town supervisor's meeting in eastern Pennsylvania, a county official reported Monday.

The shooting broke out shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET at the Ross Township building in Saylorsburg, about 75 miles north of Philadelphia, Monroe County Emergency Management Director Guy Miller told CNN. A suspected gunman was in custody, and the wounded were being taken to various hospitals nearby, he said.

I think this guy is being sarcastic. Interesting replies in comment section:

"Ronald Gayman > Scott • 23 minutes ago − There really is a simple solution to the gun violence. A complete, universal, nationwide ban on all guns, a massive rounding up of all existing guns on the municipal level, and harsh, mandatory sentences for anyone possessing a firearm. Only then will America be truly free."

I Think that's what Hitler said when he took all the guns as well, AND they all lived happily ever after.

...per lehighvalleylive.com

The Pocono Record said one of its reporters was in the township building and a gunman armed with a pistol with a scope shot through a wall into the meeting. An account from the reporter, Chris Reber, said a township official attacked the shooter and shot him with his own weapon.

The 2012 election results for Monroe County:

Obama 33,431
Romney 25,100

The results were even more lopsided in 2008.

Lots of New York and New Jersey folks spilling over, also the influence of East Stroudsburg University and its concentrated liberal vote.

Don’t know if there is a “political connection” to tonight’s tragedy, but this is the political lay of the land.

He’s probably one of Vallerie Jarrett’s OFA flying monkeys. Only a sociopath could seriously propose such a thing with such conviction. A normal person would consider what the consequences would be if they were wrong, and not want that on their conscience.

The Second Amendment appears to have been in action tonight which means this story will probably go away pretty quickly and not be a big national story.

Also...

"He continued, “I was the only person who crawled out. Everyone got behind a table. Some of the supervisors were over on the side throwing up," according to the website."

It takes time for a national office trend to work its way downwards into state and local offices.

Reagan won big in the South in the 1980’s and only now has that solidified into GOP control of almost all state legislatures.

Not sure if “his own weapon” means defender brought his own or he took the shooter’s weapon. Either way, the defender did a good thing.
