When I issued a warrant for promotion for one of my junior officers I always asked them ahead of time if they wanted to “Swear” or “Affirm” their oath. If they chose to “affirm” I did not state “So Help Me God” for them to repeat... they would just say they “affirm.”
I don’t understand why people get so upset about something they don’t believe in?
