For nearly a year, we have had no answer to why the administration lied about Benghazi — why it told the world, not to mention the parents of our murdered SEALs at the funeral of their sons, that the cause of that fatal conflagration was an anti-Islamic video no one saw, when the various arms of our executive branch (White House, State and intelligence) already knew, or strongly suspected, it was a terror attack orchestrated by al-Qaeda affiliates.
You only have to read the now infamous talking points to know that.
That this lie was deeply immoral is obvious. What still eludes us is the cause of that lie, other than the equally obvious desire to avoid embarrassment weeks before a presidential election.
But what was this embarrassment about? Recent events have supposedly unearthed a tie to secret arms shipments to Syrian rebels, but as the always cogent Barry Rubin points out, anyone paying attention to the story has known this for some time. Rumors of such shipments filled the Internet even before the Benghazi fireworks.
Furthermore, as Rubin also indicates, if that information had been immediately revealed or leaked to the public soon after the event, it would have been met by a national shoulder shrug that was firmly ratified by Obama’s loyal media claque. It wouldn’t have impacted the election much, if at all.
No, something more problematic was involved and I suspect I know what it was. No one wanted to admit — or probably face for themselves — the extent to which the president, and therefore his administration, the State Department, the CIA and even the military, was in bed with Islamists.

Yet another theory/opinion which has yet to be proven. I still believe there are other potential reasons for the Benghazi incident that need to be looked into.
Either way, what ever odumbo is, he is NOT an American.
Who actually attacked actually organized the Benghazi attack? This was not a spontaneous demonstration. The attackers were, I believe, mostly locals but with a foreign sponsor.
Who was that sponsor?
We have never been told. That is the big secret of Benghazi.

Obama doesn’t hate imperialism, as Simon claims. He hates the West and all Western ideals, and while he’s probably not much of a practicing Muslim, Obama sees Islam as the thing that most conflicts with the Judeo-Christian moral culture and the Greco-Roman intellectual and political culture of the West.
He has also rejected Western systems of governance and adopted Third World socialist tribalism and the authoritarian model of government required by it, which he is rapidly imposing here simply because we were dumb and never thought this threat would come from our very own president.
He hates us with a passion, and he’ll do anything to bring us down. The empowerment of Islam is one of these things.
And he’s surrounded by people who share his views, all the way from the unofficial power behind the throne, the terrorist Bill Ayers, to the more visible ones such as Valerie Jarrett, Susan Rice and Al Sharpton.
I suppose. But I'm just glad there is still some focus on the Benghazi story by the media. We have lots of theories of what was going down there and what the motives of the attackers were. It all needs to be thrown into the pot and lets see what sticks.
So I'm still glad the article was posted.
Governmental body language says more than the talking heads. Bengate is just one.
If I am proven wrong I will not hesitate to admit it, but; I think this whole “sudden” alqaida uprising, embassy closing, etc., is a gigantic wag the dog operation - a desperate attempt to divert attention from all the scandal evidence that has come to light....and......when the whole BS story about terror threats fizzles, obummer can take credit for THWARTING and PREVENTING something that was never going to happen in the first place. I don’t trust this regime as far as I can spit!

Powerline: So, What Is the Benghazi Cover-Up All About?
John Hinderaker, who wrote the story raises, at least for me, the real Benghazi mystery. He recognizes that the weapons smuggling is a secret that you would want to hide if you were Obama. But that cat is out of the bag and really has been for some time.
But the pressure to bury the story is more intense than ever given all of the polygraphing of CIA agents that we are reading about.
Why?
The Powerline article raises this issue. Here is a partial quote:
"Tapper’s reporting points toward the conclusion that the longstanding rumor to the effect that the terrorist attack occurred during a top-secret arms transfer mission is true. But how much does that really explain? It seems unlikely that the CIA mission prompted the attack: we now know that the Syrian rebels consist in substantial part of al Qaeda elements, and if arms were sent from Libya to Syria, al Qaeda probably wound up with some of them. So why would al Qaeda want to interrupt the CIA mission via an attack on the American compound in Benghazi?"
And we are being led down a path that says: It was al Qaeda. I wonder.
Looking at the big picture: It is the Syrian regime and Iran who had the motive, not al Qaeda. Despite what Hinderaker says, stopping the arms shipments is the logical motive for the attack. The possibility that al Qaeda would want to accomplish that seem remote.

Very interesting point you bring up. IF you look at this like a criminal investigator would, that would be a logical conclusion. Who has the most to gain by stopping the shipment? You have correctly stated: the Syrians and their backers, Iran. Also, the Russians do not want to lose the naval base in Syria.
Obviously, there has been a HUGE effort on the Obama administration to cover up what was really going on in Benghazi. Where there is smoke, there is fire. I feel bad for the poor fool who made the Mohamed You Tube video. Is he still is jail?
I believe he is. But don't quote me.
No question about it. But I can' help wondering WHY. I think it goes deeper than "annoying his buddies". There is a secret in Benghazi that is, IMHO, still under wraps. Obama is doing what he can to keep it that way. And, also IMHO, it has to be something over and above the clear fact that arms were being moved from Libya to Turkey to the Syrian rebels. That story is out there and the need to suppress it is gone. But the pressure on the story remains.
Why?
Who were those "savages" that you speak of working for?
We don't know. When we find that out the mystery will start to unravel.
We may not know the sponsors yet, but Morsi appears to have been involved in sending some of the attackers from Egypt. And since we know that, it blows my mind that Obama would continue to stick up for Morsi and the MB...unless he doesn’t want Morsi to spill some beans.

Little barry bastard boy and his entire lying regime remind me of the serial killer who denies every single murder he has committed, and even as the needle goes into his arm he holds fast to the lie, because it is the only thing he knows how to do. We have the most immoral, evil administration in our History as a nation running fedzilla. They will never admit their lies regardless of how much evidence comes out that they are blatantly lying. Those working for the father of lies a murderer from the start have no grasp of truth so they cannot even acknowledge a single lie they tell.
