On the day that almost two dozen U.S. embassies and consulates across North Africa and the Middle East are closed following the identification of a significant threat from an al-Qaeda affiliate, a senior U.S. official is providing new details about the communications intercepted from the terrorists, telling ABC News that al-Qaeda operatives could be heard talking about an upcoming attack. The official described the terrorists as saying the planned attack is “going to be big” and “strategically significant.” “The part that is alarming is the confidence they showed while communicating and the air of certainty,” the official said, adding that the group — Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula — appeared to have a media plan for after the attack.
Well, yes. Although in the article it says our Intel people were surprised that Al Q broke their operational security and pretty much allowed or maybe wanted us to know.
The one thing I know is nothing makes sense and I don’t trust this administration. Maybe these guys in Al Q don’t care WHAT kind of help subtle and otherwise O has given them- they laugh at him and carry on.
Quite amazing how STUPID this administration is, regarding the handling of intel.

The preferred approach is to place your intel gathering and response teams on high alert, WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PUBLIC!!!
That is because for the public at large, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO TELL THEM, THAT IS OF ANY USE!!!
All you’ve accomplished is to let your enemy know you’re listening.
It's a media plan to justify the NSA monitoring every domestic communication.
Now, if Obama were to declare the US an islamic republic, that would be a media event. And strategically significant as well.

So now that we are past the election, Obama has “more flexibility” to actually blame Al Qaeda embassy attacks on Al Qaeda?
When the government lies as much as the US government does, it should not be surprised if thinking people no longer accept what it says at face value.
However, the ruling elite are quite familiar with the moral of the “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. They just understand that a large number of people simply don’t think, and their numbers are sufficient sustain a state of fear.

I think that's what this is all about. There's no plot and nothing will happen.
But, over the next few weeks "anonymous insiders" will start leaking a made-up story about a threat, and how the NSA vacuum cleaner detected it. And, they'll take credit for thwarting something that was never going to happen.
In other news..the NSA uncovered the phone messages of some average kid in Boston. His conversions with his mother were mysteriously sold via spyware to the cooking channel and Rolling Stone magazine.
