This is what happens when “taking offense” is a mechanism for control and power.
Political correctness is nothing short of passive-aggressive terrorism.
Washington was listed as 7th most liberal state at 28.3%.
Conservatives could be potentially offensive to the majority of Washington state.
Perhaps they should ask all conservatives living there to stop breathing or move.
;)
J-School grad
I knew this was going to happen after they "legalized" marijuana in Washington. What ever happened to the First Amendment? These drug addicts want people to discontinue the use of the words, "citizen" and "brown bag"? Are these knuckledraggers nuts or what?
the term has a “sorted” history.
I’m offended by TV newsmen (uh, wait, newspersons) that can’t write copy.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Was the illiterate moron who wrote this drivel perhaps trying to claim that the term has a sordid history?
It seems some people think exclusively in terms of skin color. I remember when a Texaco executive used ‘black jellybeans’ referring to undesirables. Je$$ie Jack$on heard about it and sued the company and I believe either he won or the company settled. Truth is it was a good analogy that had nothing to do with race: place a bowl of assorted jellybeans in the break room at work and see what’s left at the end. I’ll guarantee the black. or licorice will be the last ones chosen.
Actually, those easily offended will probably take offence at my use of the phrase “some people”.
With or without cream?
“African American”?
In Spanish?
“Proofreader” is offensive.
But that term is offensive to messy people...
It sounds like bullsh!t to me.
Or, perhaps "subjects", or even "comrades"
Or, perhaps "subjects", or even "comrades"
They had spelling errors in the headline (but I corrected it when I posted this).
“Was peoples skin color actually compared to brown paper bags for discriminatory purposes?”
It has been known for some time that in Atlanta, in order to be a part of black high society, one could be no darker than a brown paper bag. There is discrimination among blacks toward darker blacks. It is lunacy and the melanin-challenged should just quit worrying about it. Nothing you can do will be acceptable. Ever.
When I use the words “undocumented, purple-lipped, mulato, Muslim, community organizer” it’s comforting to know I am in the company of people that are able to translate.
So, does this mean that the average IQ of a Seattle politician has dropped into the negative numbers?
Is the Seattle Ministry of Thought and Speech going to ban words that start with “G” because the first letter of the word God starts with “G” and they want no mention of the Creator.....
...better outlaw the letter “C” for Creator in Seattle also.
Also Common Sense starts with “C” so definitely all words even containing the word “C” are out.
I eagerly await the list of Double-Plus ungood words that should be published biweekly. Am I allowed to say “bi”-weekly. Is that offensive?
Hey, Seattle SS, don't forget to enforce a ban on the word “It”.
You never know when a Knight that says “Nee” may move to Seattle.
