Gays May Be Prosecuted at 2014 Olympics (Russian Winter Olympics)
ABC via Yahoo News ^ | July 31,2013 | KIRIT RADIA

MOSCOW -- In Russia it is now illegal to even speak about homosexuality around minors, much less openly display gay pride. Technically the ban is against "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations" around minors, but the implication for openly gay individuals is clear. Public displays of affection by gays, including holding hands or displaying symbols like a rainbow flag, are now banned. Violators face steep fines and jail time; foreigners face similar penalties plus deportation.

So what will happen to openly gay athletes and fans, as well as any vocal supporters or protestors, when Russia hosts the Winter Olympics next year in Sochi?

Anti-gay sentiment runs high in Russia, where homosexuality was illegal during the Soviet Union and only decriminalized in 1993. A law that sent homosexuals to psychiatric wards wasn't annulled until 1999. Petitions for gay pride parades in Moscow have been rejected and unsanctioned rallies are often met by egg-throwing Russian Orthodox believers as well as physical violence. Police are often seen ignoring the attacks, and they often detain the gay rights activists.

Reading this article some might say, tongue-in-cheek; hey, the Bolsheviks weren't all bad.

They have it right....no sympathy there for sex deviates.

Their military is made up of MEN; not faggots and dykes, like ours.

It will be hard on Homosexuals to keep it in their pants. Just consider it Olympic training.

Ten years ago, this would not have been believed. Amazing how far a Society can fall when it embraces Change from accountability.

It’s the Russian Federation. And by the time 0bama is done destroying America, we’d all wished we’d moved to Russia. They have some pretty women there, too, especially in neighboring Kazakhstan.

So, commies and muslins outside our country cannot tolerate gays, but for some reason commies and muslins in this country are extremely tolerant.

Go figure.

Question! All cultures are equal as to what? e.g. all history of people, all political governments, all beliefs, etc.

What a silly question! They will be arrested and deported - if they are fast enough to run away from Cossacks and find some police to surrender to.

“If a law has been approved by the federal legislature and signed by the president, then the government has no right to suspend it. It doesn’t have the authority,”

I never thought that I’d see the day when a Russian public official understood democracy and the rule of law better than the President and Attorney General of the United States.

In fact Bolsheviks has encouraged homosexuality, abortion etc. They were social liberals. It was actually Stalin who criminalized both in the 1930s in process of purging Bolsheviks, so you can count him as a social conservative in your own terms:-)

Multiculturalism preaches that all cultures are equal.
Multicultural nonsense.

If this is so, then the Russian position is as valid as any other.

The Trouble with Multiculturalism (Are all cultures really equal?)
National Review ^ | 06/21/2012 | Clifford May
Multiculturalism insists that all cultures are equal and equally deserving of respect and celebration. It ignores the fact that freedom emerged and flowered in the West because of, Mansur writes, the “unique transmutation of Western culture and civilization brought about by the Enlightenment and the new scientific method pioneered by Galileo.” These influences “subjected religion to the scrutiny of reason.”

Todays perverts think they have every right to promote their sexual perversion by means
of using freedom and rights to sexually molest and rape each other and not suffer any consequences
for their actions. Homosexuality has been an offense to nature for all of the history of mankind
including Rome. They should be made to suffer the wrath of nature by being ostracized from civilized
nations and society throughout the world. Let them wriggle their sexual desires in the feces infested
cesspools of dark and dank windowless buildings underground.

Not in front of our Children's innocence.

In my opinion it's a good option so long as they are also supported state or privately run "help programs" to cure the affliction of homosexuality.

It's a mental illness or stems from mental illness.

Given that we can't salvage everyone, many can be cured with treatment to address gender identity disorder.

So I hope to learn more about this type of support being offered in conjunction with shutting down perverse behavior in Russia.

It needs to be done here.
