A Bethesda man was beaten and robbed early Saturday morning in Adams Morgan by three men who yelled, “This is for Trayvon Martin,” before attacking him, police said.
The incident is being investigated as a hate crime and robbery, according to D.C. police spokesman Araz Alali.
Three black men approached an adult white male from behind while he was walking in the 1700 block of Euclid Street NW at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Adams-Morgan is an incredibly Liberal, pretty affluent, young urban professional area (both residential and commercial/restaurants) of DC, but start moving East and you’re in savage/feral territory. The guy who got stomped was from Bethesda, another area dominated by affluent Liberals.
Diminishes my give-a-sh*t meter a bit on this.
Adam’s Morgan is also, geographically, directly to the North/North East of Dupont Circle, which is the gay area of town (again, affluent Libs). Several months back there was a clear bias/hate-crime beating by some Black teens on a homosexual couple walking through Adams-Morgan in the wee hours of the morning. Neither the race of the perps nor the sexual orientation of the victims was publicized in the mainstream local news. But almost immediately Vincent Gray came out strongly in favor of gay marriage as a way of distracting from what have actually been a series of black-on-gay attacks in the city.
Simply because hiring a kid with gang tattoos and attitude is suicidal, no matter what color he is.
If Hate Crime Laws are going to be used, they should be used regardless of group.

Ha — as a N. Va resident who was just down in that area the other day (during daylight hours), I have to second this. Never seen such contrast in my life ...you have uppity looking well dressed whites as well as other races, mostly under 40, intermixed with the worst flea infested ghetto looking beings you’ll ever seen, just either loitering around or homeless, sometimes even begging. It’s really sad ...and the little yuppies just walk around them, stepping over them if they have to ....as they move throughout the area.
To them, it’s something you just deal with if you want to live in the city ... they don’t think they have to be afraid because “nothing ever happens” to them or anyone else — until it does.
Sarcasm has to be well written and if it matches the general mood of a third of the country then it has to be really well written. This wasn’t.

Freebilly, liberals consumed with white-guilt have no time for honest conversation or facts.
The only way to straighten them out would be to drop them off in the “hood” of any major US city after midnight.
I’m sure their kindness, empathy and hand wringing will carry them through the ensuing rapes and ass beatings they will surely receive.
Before dropping them off be sure they don’t have a nasty gun as most of these “hoods” are gun free zones.
