Publicly, Huma Abedin said she loves and forgives her husband, Anthony Weiner, despite a second round of sexting revelations.
But a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE she thought of leaving him last fall when Abedin, 36, learned that Weiner, 48, was once again sending sexually explicit messages and photos of himself to other women.
"He came clean to her," says the source, who is a family member.
When he did, Abedin was distraught. "She was seriously considering what to do, thinking: 'Maybe, I can't do this.' There was a possibility of leaving on the table," the source says.
The couple underwent counseling, the source says, and "she made that decision to stay there and see it through for [their son] Jordan's sake and also for Anthony, who she loves very much, and for her sake."

I wonder how many times Huma called the Weiner a “creepy ass cracka” after she found out about Carlos the Danger Ranger on the news.

I don’t really believe these stories. They deliberately put stories in the media that the wife considered leaving, to make it look like she isn’t a doormat. Like the apocryphal story that Hillary Clinton threw a lamp at Bill. They just want these women to seem, “normal.” And people buy iy. A lot of Freepers bought the lamp story.
But then she thought of the POWER, and came to her senses.
So many Weiner threads, so little time...sigh.

As soon as she realizes he’s no longer politically viable she’ll leave him quicker than a Nolan Ryan fastball.
Yeah. Public relations sources that have focus grouped the whole thing and discovered putting out this story will make her seem less like a doormat.
I don’t believe it either. There has been talk publicly about her being foolish for putting up with his carousing so I wouldn’t doubt for a second if Weenie’s PR consultant advised him to put out this story.
As much as I consider him a loser....she’s pretty close to the same level of being a four-star loser.

Exactly. If she ever considered did leaving him, it was at a time when she (and her handlers) felt he may no longer be useful to her. This is a political arranged marriage no different than a royal wedding in the middle ages. You married for power first, and had mistresses for fun.
It is amazing how Weiner, who was in office, and is the one running for office, is not the focus of the left here. The liberal intelligencia is circling the wagons around the seemingly not that important Huma. Which makes me think that Huma is the one the left is trying to elevate into power, Wiener is only the vehicle they were using to elevate her.
Why are they trying to elevate her? What role does she serve?
