Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio warned in an op-ed on Thursday that there is “mounting evidence” Obamacare creates more problems than it solves and he called on lawmakers to stop the “disastrous” law from taking effect. “It is time to admit that Obamacare isn't going to work, decide not to waste a single cent more on it, and replace it with market-based reforms that will give people more health insurance choices and options,”

Rubio penned on the Fox News website. “It's still not too late. This September may be our last best chance to do anything about this disastrous law.” He accused President Barack Obama of not listening to the American people. “Instead of giving more speeches, .........

The first-term senator said that “we still have time to do something about this,” pointing to an upcoming September deadline for Congress to pass a short-term spending bill to fund the federal government. “We should pass one that keeps the government open, but doesn't waste any more money on Obamacare,” according to Rubio, who said that the president and his allies, including some Republicans will accuse him of threatening to shut down the government. “In fact, it is President Obama who insists on shutting down the government unless it funds his failed Obamacare experiment,” said Rubio.

Sen Marco Rino...just doesn’t get it.

Conservatives will no longer be treated by rino’s as fools, we don’t need you, you need us, you are a traitor, your cards have been shown, know when to fold them.

Do you think that Rubio got hoodwinked by McCain and Graham? I also wonder if he thought that because his parents came here from Cuba and worked hard -and let’s face it - he turned out rather well (except for being a part of the gang of 8) so, maybe, just maybe he thinks other illegals compare to his own parents. Just a thought.......and I could be way off base.

Rubio's a professional pol whose achievements outside of politics are nugatory. He got his degrees from third rate colleges, despite the Hispanic quota. And how he ended up with $100K in student loans after attending state universities is a marvel of financial mismanagement. He's turned out rather well in the sense that he is not a crook, that we know of, anyway. But as senatorial material, he's about as qualified as Connie Mack IV.

Did Ted Cruz benefit from an ethnic quota? Probably. But Cruz went to Princeton, then Harvard, so he's no dumber than Obama. And unlike Obama (and Michelle), Cruz was law clerk to a Supreme Court justice (Rehnquist). In contrast to Cruz, Rubio is definitely dumber than Obama. Rubio's got low cunning down pat - I'll give him that. He picks unwinnable fights on red meat issues so conservatives will forgive him for his connivance on amnesty, which will crush conservative electoral representation for decades.

Gee, Rubio is jumping up and down on the conservative hot buttons in a frantic effort to undo the damage he has caused himself on immigration.

While his votes on these issues would be appreciated, he is NEVER to be trusted as a candidate again.

I LIKE RUBIO. Except that he proved to us all that he's hispanic first. Invaders including children must return to their homelands. I thought Rubio got it as a Cuban whose family came to the US legally.

I like the guts of saying close down the government if that's what it takes to end Obamacare. I like his strong stands on the second ammendment and abortion.

But the invasion of the US?.....that's part of our constitutional conservative "bible" so to speak. Tell me....can he (1) ever understand why the issue is so important to us and (2)how does he ever convince constitutional conservatives he's no longer or will never again be a traitor?

Problem is shutting down the government over the small amount they are talking about,it is just the funds to set up some exchanges, the bulk of the money was written into the law as mandatory spending, the democrats knew the republicans would try this.Just shows how feckless the boobs in the republican party are, they blew their chances at the beginning when the mandatory spending wAs put in.
As far as I am concerned, they are all in this together, they are playing us all for suckers, the American people think they have the power, what a joke, these scum sucking politicians have the whole system rigged,it’s worse that professional wrestling.
Sure we always have a few like Ted Cruz,Rand Paul,Sarah Palin, Mike Lee to spout off,a pressure relief valve, like talk radio, vent all your frustrations, yeah we will get them next time, yeah,ok ,call Your reps and let them know, yeah, let’s March! What a freaking joke

Demands that GOP shutdown the government till Obama caves

YES!!!

How many people get this? It's Obama versus America. He doesn't care what it takes and will hold his ground until hell freezes over. He doesn't care what anyone thinks - the ends of Socialism/Marxism justify the means.

I don't care if it's Rubio or whoever is saying this and I don't even care if it isn't sincere (ie. the GOP mode-O-day of waiting for a politically advantageous time to come to the aid of America, as in, "Where were these voices two or three years ago?").

You know what? I don't care. [S]hutdown the government till Obama caves is EXACTLY the stand that needs to be made. But it has to be done by those willing to risk everything. Obama's willing to risk everything. Why can't we find enough good guys to do the same? If it's not from the gut and heart, it won't last after the MSM gets through with them.

Sorry, but I’ve always looked sideways at Rubio. After his stunts with the shamnesty bill, he’s done forever as far as I’m concerned. Wish I could vote against him.

You’re right on every point. It is a game. Some of them make noises but they never cross the line and tell it like it is or seriously do any thing. I think their families have been threatened.

Last week GHW Bush, Mr. New World Order, went to the White House wearing his clown socks. What a display!

He went to kiss up to Obama, an avowed enemy of the United States who is doing all he can to wreck this country. That is disturbing and disgusting.

Well, he's saying what we want him to say here, so we have to give him credit for that.

Does he have credibility anymore? Unfortunately, no.

There seems to be some support for this in the House, rather than the Senate - I read that only about 12 other GOP Senators are willing to do this.

I’ll give Rubio a second chance on immigration if he is able to lead this fight and get Obamacare repealed. Nothing short of that will do.
