MOSCOW, July 25 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday praised the role of Orthodox Christianity in the country’s history and congratulated the heads of the world’s Orthodox churches on the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus, a medieval state comprising parts of modern-day Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

“The adoption of Christianity became a turning point in the fate of our fatherland, made it an inseparable part of the Christian civilization and helped it turn into one of the largest world powers,” Putin said in a message addressed to participants of a commemorative celebration on Red Square, the Kremlin reported.

“It is Orthodoxy that gave Russia a powerful impetus for the development and rise of culture and education,” the message says.

Putin also praised the Russian Orthodox Church’s role in developing a constructive dialogue with other Orthodox churches as well as international collaboration.

No wonder Bush got along well with this guy. And no wonder Putin clearly believes the atheist scumbag Ubama is just a little punk.

This is the same Putin who called the fall of communism the worst event of the 20th Century.

“This is the same Putin who called the fall of communism the worst event of the 20th Century.”

He senses weakness in America and is posturing to become more popular in this country than Obama.

It’s a great PR move. And it’s working.

I never would have thought Russia would be acknowledging Christanity...while the US tries to stop it.

Unreal

My family originally came from Russia, looking to escape the oppression they were experiencing there. Strange that an American president is now attacking Christianity while a Russian president is supporting it.

The slapdown of boy zer0 during by President Putin during that Snowden flap was classic. For the first time in my life I cheered for the Russian leader in a confrontation with this country. But an asterisk is in order, since the POS sitting the White House isn’t American.

Just Obama? Putin is beginning to look better than a majority of U.S. senators. (I saw Mitch McConnell's pissy anti-Matt Bevin pop up ad this morning and it set me off.)

I find a great deal of inspiration in Putin, his outlook and policies. Much more attuned to the world around us than the jihadist/zionist/communist we have in the white house.

I think we should find Pootski a Hawaiian birth certificate and allow him to come here and replace the Bolshevik.

They may have learned their lesson after a CENTURY of failure.

We, on the other hand have forgotten our lesson and are heading into that century now. Only, we will have no USA out there to assist us and pull us out.
