Obama Offers Up More Of The Same: division, polarization and moving to the left.
Forbes ^ | July 24, 2013 | Doug Schoen

Obama doubled down on his approach in 2012: division, polarization and moving to the left.

Much like in 2012, the President placed little emphasis on tax reform or growth.

The President emphasized redistribution above all else, but with, again, no long-term plan as to how he would finally make this approach an effective one.

You would have thought Obama would have waited until he got amnesty passed before he started the full out attack. I’m sure there are some pubs that think if they do that Obama will be nice to them.

I posted this earlier:

Can I say something that really bugs me here. Obnama talks about infrastructure, about building new ports, ports for the twenty-first century. As if that would get the economy moving. Infrastructure is important in an economy, but it does not drive an economy. You need incentives for capital to make the needed investments to start and grow businesses before any of this investment in infrastructure will have any effect. I mean, lets take the poorest economy in the western hemisphere, Haiti. Lets borrow money and build the best ports in the world there. Lets build bullet trains. Do you think that that would make Haiti more prosperous? Without the incentive for business and capital to become more profitable, to make their risks pay off, all you would have are empty ports.

Obama wants to build new ports to pay off his union buddies. Otherwise, every act he does punishes capital formation and investment. Higher taxes, higher employee costs, increased unionization, greater regulation, higher energy costs, on and on, are disincentives to economic growth. All the bullet trains in the world won't change that.

Obama believes that economic growth comes from the top down. That you take from the top and redistribute to the bottom. It is so back assward that one marvels in its stupidity. I mean, Where on this great blue planet has it ever worked that way? Cut regulations, cut corporate tax rates (to zero?), repeal Obamacare. Then get out of the way of the economic surge.

This reminds one of a recent news item. Seems police were called to the a resident’s home The owners had a home intruder who was ‘pleasuring himself on their carpet’ Wonder if he looked a lot like obomba.

Like the bullet trains between LA and San Francisco. What economic function would it serve that cannot be served by the present transportation system, or by a fast locomotive train like the old Super Chief. with limited no.of stops and a decent dining car?

Fasttrain connections between the major cities of Texas have been bruited but not acted upon, because they require so much more than just the train and track. Fact is that passenger service has never been profitable for railroad companies: they require tax subsidies.

If such a connection were profitable, they wouldn’t need governments to build them or subsidies to run them. They go over budget in the construction phase, and, like the gift that keeps on giving, require taxpayer subsidies in their operation to keep them operating, as they inevitably run a deficit. Why government feels the need to be in the transportation business never fails to amaze me.

Obama is done—he Jumped the Shark a long time ago—only a corrupt MSM and a whole lot of money caused him to be re-elected—and will see him in a 3rd Term in 2016. He isn’t done with America.

Obama believes that economic growth comes from the top down. That you take from the top and redistribute to the bottom. .... Where on this great blue planet has it ever worked that way?

It isn't intended or even wanted to work economically. It works politically to "mobilize the masses" of the people, and the labor soviets, and the fellow travelers.

It helps to mobilize them for the great civil war he is preparing, that will establish the "new normal" .... in an America much less white and, for that matter, much less populous, if necessary.

Not necessarily. You can say that only when he fails to achieve his own objectives, by his own metrics. Do you know what they are? Does anyone?

No long term plan? I guess the author here has not read Whitaker Chambers,Chambers says in his book the communists here causing Chaos in the streets was the tactic to gain power as the saviours from the chaos they were causing,so this long term tactic has been around for some time.
As for just calling them liberals,Chambers explains they obviously could not call themselves what they were, communists,so guess what term they adopted to describe themselves, you should know because Hillary Clinton has self described herself as one,PROGRESSIVES.
