IRS center that reviews info from illegal workers still plagued by "chaos"
WTHR ^ | Jul 23, 2013 | Bob Segall/13 Investigates

AUSTIN, TX - If Howard Antelis looks familiar, it's because he's the guy who blew the whistle on the IRS.

"I'm horrified and ashamed and embarrassed by what I've seen," the veteran IRS tax examiner told 13 Investigates last summer. "We've been allowing the U.S. taxpayer to get robbed for years now... and we should all be outraged at what's going on."

Antelis, along with a tax preparer in central Indiana, helped WTHR expose massive fraud involving the IRS. Eyewitness News discovered the federal agency had been giving away billions of dollars in improper tax credits to undocumented workers. Making matters worse, the IRS had known about the problem for nearly a decade and failed to act.

Three months after the Eyewitness News investigation, the IRS announced it would make changes to prevent the fraud and to correct the widespread mismanagement identified by Eyewitness News.

The IRS claims those changes are working.

They should dock the IRS worker’s pay to get the money back. Garnish their wages. Seize the IRS worker’s homes and cars. Possibly imprison them. After all, it’s how they would handle it against you or me.

Just another government fiasco along the “pathway” to the U.S. Treasury.

Our tolerance for debt-based welfare to immigrants is equal to our tolerance for the debt that we are willing to pass onto our children and grandchildren.

Reduce our tolerance for debt-based Federal Programs, and our tolerance for immigration will also be reduced.

_____________

Our Southern Border is under the control of Mexican Drug Gangs. An illegal attempt by AG Holder to challenge their grip failed with Fast and Furious.

Obama has allowed INS officials to increase the number of “got-aways” and to decrease the number of illegal alien invaders actually caught.

Gullible News outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal routinely run articles quoting Obamanation statistics that numbers of captured illegal alien invaders are down, and thus there is no such thing as the surge of illegal alien invaders from Mexico and other Southern Hemisphere Socialist Countries.

Most News outlets refuse to come to our Southern Border to document their obviously false assertions.

Most State Politicians cower when our sorry NINE SUPREMES dictate that the State has no authority to protect itself from illegal alien invaders.

As long as THE NINE SUPREMES have 4 Socialist Judges, there will always be a high risk that some gullible Judge from the Majority will cross over to the dark side and continue the destruction of our US Constitution as the signature accomplishment of the US Welfare State. Traitor John Roberts’ support of Obama’care’ is the most horrific example.

Thus, it is incumbent upon those of us who still value the US Constitution to oppose the dark side, what we now call Obamanation.

________________________

The purpose of passing a Federal “reform” immigration bill this year is to allow illegal alien invaders from Mexico, and other Central and South American Socialist Countries, to vote for Socialist-Democrats and appeasing RINOs in the 2014 and 2016 USA National Elections for more debt-generating welfare to future illegal alien invaders to become future Socialist-Democrat voters.

These future Socialist-Democrat voters should be called “McCain-Rubio Democrats,” as no other Senators have done more to encourage gullible RINOs to appease and otherwise cave-in to debt-dependent Democrats than these two sorry RINO Senators.

Stand your ground, FReepers! Raise the Gadsden Battle Flag!

It is us against the gullible supporters of Obamanation!

For example:

While Rubio and his Eight Senate Gangsters put out political smoke and mirrors to “get a bill passed this year,” nothing they have said will change the basic problem of aliens illegally invading the USA.

The Basic Problem: Illegal aliens invade the USA for Welfare and Wages.

Solutions that address the Basic Problem:

1.) End the Anchor Baby Law.

2.) End the Hospital Emergency Room No Payment Law (EMTALA).

3.) End ANY other Welfare to Aliens.

4.) Fine US employers $1,000 per day per employee who is an alien.

5.) Spend NO money on “securing the border.” It is a bottomless money pit.

6.) Spend money on Chainlink/ Concertina wire desert prisons for the EXISTING Federal Law for a mandatory 6 month imprisonment for repeat offenders who have invaded our Country more than once.

7.) Transfer Border Invasion Enforcement to the US National Guard in each State, and thus under the control of the Governor of each State. The less Federal involvement, the better.

8.) Repeal all State and Federal Laws that prohibit voter officials and Police from requesting proof of US Citizenship for any reason what so ever.

9.) Be as hostile to all illegal alien invaders as we should be to all Federal politicians and Federal Judges who vote for or support another Ted Kennedy-style amnesty bill with no significant Federal enforcement.

Contact your local TEA Party, and plan to kick the sorry RINOs and even sorrier Democrats out of Congress in 2014!

It is all about your values and the money FReepers, YOUR values and YOUR tax money.

I disagree that Fast and Furious was aimed at the drug cartels. It was intended to facilitate the expansion of more stringent gun control in the US.

Fair Point.

Tyranny cannot exist with an armed citizenry.

Gun abolishment (= “control”) is always a basic tenant of a Communist take over of a Country.

What Commie Tyrant Obama is running out of is MONEY.

Hence, Holder proposed the idea of knocking out the Mexican Drug Cartels power at the US/Mexico Border, and making a “Grand Bargain” with the Drug Cartel’s controlled Mexican Politicians for a generous slice of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and Drugs previously controlled by the Mexican Drug Cartels.

BTW, why would Commie Obama use one his Executive Orders to protect Holder from a curious US House investigation?

And you or I would be given 30 days to pay up or else face additional fines, fees and charges in addition to criminal penalties.

Seems this IRS program was initiated to gain revenues from the illegals working in this country, but the scams, the fraud costs more than the revenues gained, therefore eliminate the program, secure the damned border, and protect the legitimate taxpaying citizens from this, and so much other abuse.

I’d say as this has been going on for most of a decade as reported in the article this once again is a program we can assign the Democrats that took control of the country in 2007 when they overwhelmed Congress.

I’m certain there’s a parallel story here involving some scam of the Democrats, money, power, but damned if I can figure it out.

Report: IRS turned blind eye to fraud / By Bernie Becker / 08/08/12

The IRS showed more interest in processing applications for a taxpayer identification number than in vetting those requests for fraud, according to a federal audit publicly released Wednesday. The revenue service's review of applications for Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) was lacking and there was no reason to believe the IRS uncovered as much fraud as it could, the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration found.

Russell George, the tax administration inspector general, said that those findings were “troubling.” ITINs are given to non-U.S. citizens, who are ineligible for a Social Security Number, for tax purposes, and can even be used by people not eligible to be in the United States. The inspector general “found an environment which discourages employees from detecting fraudulent applications,” George said in a statement.

The IRS has said that it has already started to beef up its oversight of ITIN applications and will continue to make improvements. But GOP lawmakers slammed the agency’s handling of the issue, with one senior House Republican — Rep. Sam Johnson (Texas) — calling for the resignation of the IRS commissioner, Doug Shulman.

In all, the IRS processed some 2.9 million returns with ITINs in 2011, to the tune of roughly $6.8 billion in refunds. The inspector general report does not say what percentage of those returns or refunds were fraudulent, and IG officials have said that figure would be difficult to figure out. The report found the IRS had scrapped a program that looked to sniff out potential ITIN fraud and did not spend enough time training employees on how to look for signs of fraud.

The inspector general conducted the report after a pair of lawmakers expressed concern that the IRS was essentially rubber-stamping ITIN applications, with agency higher-ups only interested in the number of submissions that could be approved. An IRS spokeswoman, in response to the report, said that the agency already had started to require more documentation to obtain an identification number.

In June, the agency announced that applicants would need either original or certified copies of birth certificates or passports to get an ITIN, and they could no longer rely on notarized documents. The IRS has also agreed to give more training to employees on the issue, with new tax examiners only getting an hour of discussion on spotty documents. Agency employees also told the inspector general they had no incentive to report fraud.“We are in the process of conducting a comprehensive review of the program to make additional changes before the next tax season to provide further safeguards for the ITIN program,” Michelle Eldridge, the IRS spokeswoman, said in a statement.

But Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.), the chairman of the House Ways and Means subcommittee on oversight, sent Shulman a letter seeking more answers on how the IRS runs its ITIN process. Boustany noted that a previous inspector general report found that filers with the identification numbers claimed more than $4 billion worth of additional child tax credits in 2010, and another that said the IRS could issue billions of dollars worth of fraudulent refunds over the next five years. “It’s one thing if the IRS tries to catch fraud and fails, but it’s quite another when management apparently takes steps to weaken program integrity,” Boustany said in a statement.

Johnson, the chairman of the Ways and Means subcommittee on Social Security, went further, saying in a statement that “the commissioner and certain IRS officials are essentially aiding and abetting illegal immigrants.” Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah), the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, will also be looking into the issue, according to a spokeswoman.

The inspector general’s report found, among other things, that single addresses in both Phoenix and Dallas were used for more than 15,000 ITIN applications, and that more than 150 mailing addresses in all were used more than 1,000 times. One address in Atlanta was used for almost 24,000 ITIN tax refunds in 2011, for a total amount of $46.4 million. The report also found that agency officials split up a team that was focused on finding possible fraud schemes among ITIN applications after it helped identify more than $43 million in erroneous refunds.

US Dept of the Treasury Says Illegal Aliens Collecting
Billions in Tax Credits.

According to the US Dept of Treasury’s Inspector General, more than $4.2 billion in additional child credits were paid out in 2010 to illegal immigrants. In 2005, the pay outs totaled $924 million.

This program allows low income earners to claim a $1,000 per child credit. $20 billion EITC is estimated to have been paid out to these cunning “impoverished” illegals.

Most of them are collecting over and over again-——using
multiple identities-——falsifying official apps-—claiming children they do not have and/or falsely stating
fictitious kids are “back in their homelands.”
