Obama Focuses on Economy, Vowing to Help Middle Class
New York Times ^ | July 24, 2013 | MICHAEL D. SHEAR and PETER BAKER

President Obama tried to move past months of debate over guns, surveillance and scandal on Wednesday and reorient his administration behind a program to lift a middling economy and help middle-class Americans who are stuck with stagnant incomes and shrinking horizons.

In speeches in two small college towns in the Midwest, Mr. Obama lamented that typical Americans had been left behind by globalization, Wall Street irresponsibility and Washington policies, while the richest Americans had accumulated more wealth. He declared it “my highest priority” to reverse those trends, while accusing other politicians of not only ignoring the problem but also making it worse.

“With this endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals, Washington’s taken its eye off the ball,” Mr. Obama told an audience at Knox College, in Galesburg, Ill., the site of his first major economic speech as a young senator eight years ago. “And I am here to say this needs to stop. This needs to stop. This moment does not require short-term thinking. It does not require having the same old stale debates. Our focus has to be on the basic economic issues that matter most to you — the people we represent.”

Rush yesterday said that Phil Mickelson has to pay 61% of his British Open and endorsement winnings to the UK govt, the US federal govt, and the California govt. He’s clearly an evil one-percenter who refuses to pay his fair share; a reactionary counter-revolutionary determined to overthrow the dictatorship of the proletariat — string him up!

If this guy didn't exist, Rush Limbaugh would have to make him up.

Too late.

Ayn Rand already made him up.

You have to admit that he is focused like a laser beam on the economy...more like a city-destroying death beam, actually, but a laser beam none the less.

No, please, don't help. Seriously, don't help us hussein. I don't think I could stand much more of your "help."

My healthcare is more expensive, less available, fewer options. My insurance (all kinds) is more expensive. My kids college educations are more expensive. My company is struggling to stay afloat, and we've lost probably one quarter of our workers from this site. I have less disposable income. Weapons and ammunition are hard to come by and expensive when you can find them. Magazines, just standard good old magazines, are now banned here. There is more government intrusion into my personal and private life. There are more ways for me to accidentally break the law. There are more ways for me to intentionally break the law while supporting and defending the Constitution. My wife lost two jobs in the last year.

Frankly, I don't think I can take much more "help" from the likes of you Mr. President. Leave us the hell alone, just go play some golf or something.

When I read the headline I thought, “This must be another use of the word ‘help’ with which I am unfamiliar.”

Did Obama defeat an Incumbent President in 2012?

Quite the inverse; The greater the economic disparity between rich and working poor, the more Job Opportunities for the working poor.

“Frankly, at this point, I wish to hell he’d keep his damn hands off the middle class because every thing he touches turns to shit.”

You don’t really think that is an accident or merely his incompetence, do you?

You may have heard of crocodile tears? Well this is crocodile concern, and a day late and trillions of dollars short to boot.

Next: Help the middle class? Scariest pharase in America: I’m Barack Obama and I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

God help us all, and deliver us from incompetence, fraud, evildoers and misguided fools.

Karl Marx HATED the middle class. The Communist Manifesto is a recipe for DESTROYING the middle class.

Using Marx's ideas to help the middle class is like using Hitler's ideas to help the Jews.

But the middle class keeps voting for this...
