This is easily explained.
Easter had just occurred at the White House. Wilkins and Shulman were simply invited over to help send out thank you cards to the attendees of the White House Easter Egg Roll event.

the problem with that is snitches in republican administrations are hailed as heroes by the media, but snitches in democratic administrations tend to have accidents or commit suicide.
