Why doesn’t he just change to Democrat?

If the Pubbies fail to take back the Senate in 2014, I predict McCain will switch parties, if only to obtain more power for himself.

John Locke tells us about standing you ground in his 2nd treatise on government

Sec. 16. THE state of war is a state of enmity and destruction: and therefore declaring by word or action, not a passionate and hasty, but a sedate settled design upon another man's life, puts him in a state of war with him against whom he has declared such an intention, and so has exposed his life to the other's power to be taken away by him, or any one that joins with him in his defence, and espouses his quarrel; it being reasonable and just, I should have a right to destroy that which threatens me with destruction: for, by the fundamental law of nature, man being to be preserved as much as possible, when all cannot be preserved, the safety of the innocent is to be preferred: and one may destroy a man who makes war upon him, or has discovered an enmity to his being, for the same reason that he may kill a wolf or a lion; because such men are not under the ties of the commonlaw of reason, have no other rule, but that of force and violence, and so may be treated as beasts of prey, those dangerous and noxious creatures, that will be sure to destroy him whenever he falls into their power.

Sec. 17. And hence it is, that he who attempts to get another man into his absolute power, does thereby put himself into a state of war with him; it being to be understood as a declaration of a design upon his life: for I have reason to conclude, that he who would get me into his power without my consent, would use me as he pleased when he had got me there, and destroy me too when he had a fancy to it; for no body can desire to have me in his absolute power, unless it be to compel me by force to that which is against the right of my freedom, i.e. make me a slave. To be free from such force is the only security of my preservation; and reason bids me look on him, as an enemy to my preservation, who would take away that freedom which is the fence to it; so that he who makes an attempt to enslave me, thereby puts himself into a state of war with me. He that, in the state of nature, would take away the freedom that belongs to any one in that state, must necessarily be supposed to have a foundation of all the rest; as he that in the state of society, would take away the freedom belonging to those of that society or commonwealth, must be supposed to design to take away from them every thing else, and so be looked on as in a state of war.

Breaking away ? He is only a conservative when he is running for reelection. And then he spews nothing but lies. The Oligarchy is coming for our guns. And one way or another, they will get them.

Why doesn't he "change to Democrat?"

That's simple enough. He's so much more valuable for generating the following story leads:"Breaking away from many in the conservative movement..." etc. etc.

OK, according to McInsane there should be no stand your ground laws and everyone must run from criminals.

So, why didn’t Trayvon run from Zimmerman instead of assault him?

Perhaps we should encourage John to resign from his current job and enter state or local politics, if he feels that he could make a difference there. However, I suspect he’d get his ass kicked in anything other than a state-wide election.

I just sent this to my senor (intentional spelling) Senator:
Thank you for your service. You have earned a rest. Consider retirement so you can enjoy time with the family. The strain of looking for opportunities to betray your constituents so you can kiss up to the Press, the President and AL Sharpton in some bizarre hope that they will stop laughing at you behind you back, is showing. I say constituents because these betrayals are bad for all Arizonans. The Leftist Obama agenda has brought a breakdown of trust in governmental institutions, a breakdown the government has earned with NSA,IRS, and Healthcare. Your vocal and implicit support of these outrageous breaches of privacy give cover to the Leftists and encourage ever greater governmental power grabs. Pleas, Retire. azwildkitten.

I'm not an expert on the SYG laws but is it really a gun right law? From the little I read it just says you can use deadly force to defend your life without have to flee/retreat.
I mean, I could bang someone in the head with a hammer or stab their throat to defend myself under SYG, not necessarily use a gun.

In other words McCain and the other idiots in power who exempt themselves from horrible Obamacare, now want to take away our self defense laws when they live in very wealthy areas and are protected with armed security. Got it.

I have come to realize that the reason the McCain is so often wrong on the issues is because he is a Statist. So is Lindsey Graham.

McCain you should review your status as a Republican and Conservative you are neither and the only good vote I can think of that you’ve made is not voting for harry reid as Senate leader although you have given him your full support in all other areas, just go on and cross over, you’ll be more comfortable and may even possibly be able to cast a vote for harry. Myself and many others won’t think any less of you than we do now.
